    The family-run Ferndene Guest House offers high-quality bed and breakfast accommodation in Keswick, 10 minutes’ walk from the Theatre by the Lake and Derwent Water. Rooms include a flat-screen TV, radio alarm clock and tea and coffee facilities. Each has an en suite shower room with hairdryer and complimentary toiletries. We offer a wholesome and mouth-watering breakfast to all our guests in order to set you up for a relaxing day in the beautiful Lake District. We aim to use the best of local and Fair Trade produce meeting individual needs as best we can. Our Ferndene special cooked Breakfast contains a large locally made Cumberland sausage curl, two rashers of fresh local Cumbrian bacon, grilled fresh tomatoes, sauteed mushrooms, beans and scrambled eggs or fried eggs. Or, you could try our range of tasty Breakfast Baps with bacon and/or sausage. To complement your breakfast, we provide fresh toast (white, wholemeal or a mix) with a selection of spreads including jams, marmalades and honey. Fresh orange and apple fruit juices can be selected with your breakfast. A wide variety of hot drinks are available in your room for your enjoyment, including Fair Trade tea and coffee, an extensive range of Earl Grey, green, herbal and fruit teas and decaffeinated tea and coffee. We can cater for most dietary requirements (please ask for further details) and are pleased to offer many gluten free options and vegetarian and vegan variants of our breakfasts and baps

    With a few tweaks I will go back again
    Bedroom in the annexe clean and comfortable. Breakfast very good. Short walk into town.
    The mattress was too soft, almost sponge like. Room 7. No clear signage at the rear of property. Somebody put the passageway light on in the annexe late on. Maybe the light could be put on a motion sensor and timed.

    Was expensive for what I received, particularly as I don't eat a cooked breakfast.
    Location
    Room was cold , electric panel heater not very good. Was trapped in the car park until the car behind me left. This was despite telling the Guest House owner I wanted to leave.

    Very pleased
    We were made very welcome from the start. The room was warm cozy and very comfortable. Nothing was too much of a problem. There was lots of information available. As for the breakfast. There were so many lovely touches, from the individual milk bottles and marmalade pots. A perfect pleasant touch.
    There was nothing to unlike. It was just a pleasant stay.

    We were in an annexe across a yard from the main house. It was cold and we were unable to use the shower unless we wanted to freeze or be scalded. The room was comfortable and warm if we kept the convector on high all the time. I am sure it was warmer in the main house. The TV was too high on the wall.
