Hard to communicate and trust

It was clean, but only at the start. The location is good, next to the old city attractions, but a little far from public transport.

There was not a lift, nor a strong wi-fi connection. The breakfast was very poor (the bread was not always fresh). The red-haired lady at the breakfast service didn't even say good morning! Not a word of English and not a sign of friendliness. The worst of all was that a one-night stay settled and confirmed at the nearby hotel that belongs to the property, was not fulfilled. We were left without a hotel and had to find one at a higher price. The only very helpful person there, is a boy speaking very good English who apologised and tried hard to find us a room. All the time before our visit, we kept talking on the phone and they promised things that were never written down on an email or message, as I was begging them to do.

Small and conveniently located hotel, close to Ayasofya, the Blue Mosque and Palace

The hotel is small but conveniently located and on a quiet street. There was a reasonable choice of dishes available for breakfast. The guys working on the reception were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a good size.

We had a booked a taxi to the airport on our last day, leaving the hotel at 07:30. We informed the guy on the reception desk the day before and we were told, even though breakfast didn't officially start until 08:00 (quite late) we'd be able to get something simple; at least a coffee. But the reality was that the woman working in the breakfast room first refused to allow us into the breakfast room, and then made such a fuss when all we wanted was a coffee from the machine. It wasn't much to ask and certainly no extra work for her, but from her attitude you'd think we had caused so much trouble. It's a shame, as this clouded our opinion of what was otherwise a good stay. The only other thing to mention is that the bed was quite soft. Not so good for my back but for some people it might be fine.

Great hotel in the best neighborhood

This hotel is in my favorite neighborhood in Istanbul, near the main tourist attractions, great restaurants and easy transport to/from the airport. The hotel is quiet, clean, friendly and well-maintained. I love the breakfast on the rooftop with the view of the Bosphorus. I would stay here again.

No complaints at all. BTW, there's no need to take an airport shuttle or a taxi from the airport. There are regular buses from the airport into the city what connect with the light rail to the city center. Much cheaper and sometimes faster than a taxi.

Very good location in the center of Sultanahmed. Walking distance to all attractions. We got a room with a balcony on the 5th floor with a beautiful view of the Bosphorus. The room was very clean with comfortable bed. Good pressure of hot water. Daily cleaning. We were there at the end of November and it was cold outside at night, but the radiator was working in the room and heated towel rail in the bathroom so it was very warm. It's quiet at night. Pleasant staff at the reception. They helped lift our heavy suitcases into our room. Breakfast in a rooftop cafe with a beautiful view and an open terrace. Unfortunately, due to the cold weather, we had to have breakfast inside. As for the breakfast. We're vegetarians and unfortunately there were few options for us but nevertheless we didn't go hungry.

I must warn you that the hotel has no elevator and there is a narrow spiral staircase. Not a problem for us, so I didnt lower the rating, especially since they helped us lift our suitcases, each of which was weighed 20 kg. But nevertheless, bringing them up 4 floors is not easy. Another disadvantage is that woman in the cafe didn't speak English at all and weren't very polite, unlike the staff at the reception. They were super friendly. Another minus is that at 6:30 there were sounds from the mosques from the street. But not for a long, just 10-15 minutes and then we could sleep again. What can you do, this is their country, it's Muslim, we're guests. But nevertheless, this is an unpleasant moment in the morning.
