    An enjoyable two days
    Location was in the heart of everything. Almost too close to the action. Luckily the live music from the pub directly below our window stopped at 10pm. Revelers, however, continued on to about 5ambank holiday. Some problem with the room phoneit didnt work.
    Breakfast was a little sketchy, but edible!not sure how many guests were at the hotel. Warning, local restaurants dont serve dinner until after 7pm.just libations.

    excellent location for all the town has to offer. pleasant staff and clean bed, rooms and bathroom.
    hotel is very central to everything. literally just outside the front door there are bars, coffee shops restaurants and beautiful places to walk around in the old city. we only stayed one night in this hotel and it was perfect for what we needed. The carpet on the stairs is very old and worn and could do with being changed or at least deep cleaned. The lift was out of order when we arrived but it was quickly fixed. The bedroom we had was quite big, clean and the bathroom was on the small side, but perfect and clean. The soundproof windows were ideal as there is a lot of activity outside.
    the stairs are a bit worn and could do with a deep clean or a new carpet and paint.

    Great location but I wouldnt return as the room needed a thorough deep clean
    The hotel is in a great location and surprisingly quiet with the window shut.
    You need to shut the window for the noise but the air conditioning didnt work. I barely wanted to touch the controller also as it was so filthy.

    There were mouse droppings in my room , and in my bed . Staff moved me to another room the next day after a horrendous sleepless night Hotel de France refused to compensate me , very poor response from booking.com

    The smell coming from the sink and shower was rough especially at night and lots of hair found around the shower and toilet

    The hotel takes deposit without warning and then does not return it
    The hotel receptionist asked for my card and then, without telling me, took a 50 Euros deposit. When I discovered I was told this would be returned automatically upon my departure. 3 weeks later and I am still waiting for this refund.
