    Superb
Brilliant place to stay in the heart of Port Isaac
We were in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the town. The Red Lion pub was round the corner and brilliant for meals. We did a walk and talk tour with Mike and met locals and visitors alike. Everyone was welcoming. Once we had parked in the car park we didnt move our car till we left - we stayed 2 nights. We loved walking round the village and over to the next village.
The key box was nearly impossible to get in to. It took a second set of keys to help prise it open. Just when I thought we wouldnt be able to get in we managed to open it. It could maybe do with being updated - maybe the sea air has weathered it a bit :-) It made us very reluctant to use it through our stay. While the house had loads of really useful stuff, I could not find a hair dryer - I didnt read if one was included but just assumed there would be one - its a bit chilly at the moment with wet hair - minor issue. Also of note are the extremely steep stairs. We had originally thought of taking my parents with us but they had other plans. Im glad we didnt as my Dad would not have been able to get up/down the stairs. For us it was a minor issue - remembering where I was before I headed down to the loo in the night.

Cute and cosy Great location - especially for Doc Martin fans! Close to the pub
Stairs dangerously steep Shower cubicle opening very small No parking near the property or anywhere close. You even have to pay to park in the closest car park (350metres away up hill) Also the closest grocery shop is not too far away but up quite steep lanes

    Jacobs Cottage A Good Stay.
Very comfortable little cottage right in the very heart of Port Isaac. Right next to the Golden Lion so could have a drink with the locals as well. Clean, comfortable and tidy. The downstairs kitchen had a log burner so we went to Wadebridge Tesco and bought some logs which made it cosy. The front door knob literally turned and the front door opened all on its own accord one evening as we sat at kitchen table and there was not a soul around! Which was a bit spooky but fun. Mind you it is hundreds of years old. We loved it and will stay again some time.
No bad points really, the electric storage heater in downstairs kitchen did not work so may annoy some guests who are too tight to buy logs and use the log burner. No parking at all so we just parked up by the old school and walked down, but in summer season parking there would not be possible due to traffic warden patrols but you would have to use the main car park up top of village.

A lovely fishermans cottage in the centre Port Isaac perfect for a short stay.
The properties location couldnt have been more perfect for an authentic Port Isaac stay. The bedrooms were great and very spacious, the first floor sitting area was lovely & with the window open, you can hear the hustle and bustle of Port Isaac and the ground floor kitchen/dining area was fabulous and a great room to first walk into.
Only one bathroom & it is very small. Windows needed cleaning inside & out as multiple spiders and dust on them when we opened for fresh air. Also some were screwed shut which was confusing. Outside could do with a clean up and paint.

Loved this quirky cottage! So much character and right in the center of town! Lovely!
Location and number of bedrooms! Roomy for a small apartment built in the 1800s!
Neighbors nearby fighting every night until 3am or so.

    Cute quirky cottage
Excellent position a very cute quirky cottage right in the heart of town.
Pillows not very comfortable and the main bed is too small. The main bed needs to be upgraded from a double bed to a queen with a good mattress. Bathroom smells all the time and it's the smallest shower I have ever used. This isn't a dislike because I knew about it before I booked but others need to be aware that this cottage is over 3 floors and you will be totally sick of stairs by the time you leave. Also it's a very long walk, up and down steep hills from the car parking to the cottage. Make sure you have everything you need, coats, milk, snacks, groceries etc because it's a long walk back up the hill to the Co-Op if you need supplies. On the plus side your legs get a very good work out.

    Good
Nice location, central and convenient. Good cottage with all amenities, but issue with hot water.
The cottage is well located and caters for everything needed .
There appears to be a general problem with the hot water, based on similar comments left by other patrons in the guest book provided. There are instructions provided to check that the switch has not perhaps automatically tripped, which we checked repeatedly, but either way, still no hot water, lukewarm at best. We attempted calling the number provided for maintenance, but there is no mobile signal at the cottage nor nearby. I emailed the landlord via Booking.com and never received a reply.
