What a beautiful setting and so peaceful! We were welcomed by Vanda, such a caring and kind lady. Vanda had prepared a wonderful homemade cream tea for us!
Tony, Vandas husband, had put lovely fairy lights up around the outside of the lodge and on two small trees on the decking. A Christmas wreath adorned the outside of the lodge door. It all looked so pretty!
Inside, Vanda had decorated the the bed posts and had various Christmas wreathes and flowers dotted around, which we really appreciated.
There were thoughtful additions, like doggy towels and covers for the sofa, hot water bottles, towels and flannels, Vanda had thought of everything we could need!
The lodge was incredibly well insulated and so was nice and warm and cosy inside. There was plenty of wardrobe and drawer space and the lodge had an ironing board, iron and hairdryer. It was fully equipped for cooking, with an oven and hob, crockery, cutlery, glasses, cooking pans and utensils and cleaning materials. There was a fridge, a T.V and some books and videos. The heating was more than adequate and the lodge had such a lovely feel, with beautiful views of the lake and trees and lots of wildlife.
We took our dog walks around the lake and enjoyed the lovely plants and vegetation. We wished we were able to stay longer but we will come back during the spring, to fully appreciate the flowers and trees.
