handy if you use it as a base for exploring

the staff were great the rooms were great very pet friendly great to use as a base for going to surrounding towns like bedale leyburn etc plenty of walks locally for dogs too

breakfast was always coldso was soup and you had to wait a very longtime for your meal parking was out the front do not have their own parking which made it awkward for loading and unloading also could get quite noisy in the bar

The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The facilities and food was excellent. I loved the cosy atmosphere of the restaurant and the decor and furnishings in our room. I can't wait to return.

Very enjoyable stay

Breakfast was good, staff were very friendly. 3 of the staff stood out for us, Jo on reception was very nice & helpful, Gay & Chris served us at breakfast both days and was so friendly. Lovely stay.

The village was very quiet, but it was New Year and a few places closed.

Great friendly hotel

Lovely hotel, large room in the barn conversion with kingsize bed. Food was delicious, we ate friday night and had breakfast both mornings, good choice of continental and good full English.

The room was very warm without heating on, only one small window which only opened slightly. It was a dog friendly room and she was too warm, however, there was a fan in the cupboard so used that to cool her down.

The hotel was situated in the centre and easily accessible to walks. The room was well decorated and a good size, especially with the dogs.

The bed was a bit uncomfortable and the fan from the kitchen area was quite loud. The Breakfast was okay, especially the avocados on toast which was not good.
