At 720 USD per night for the full board, swim-up suite there are few basics that were really not met.
1. Check-in experience: very slow, we appreciated the effort to provide with the room one hour before the check-in time but in the 2 hours wait before and 2 hours after a simple request to get WIFI was not fulfilled despite 3 requests to illustrate. The experience will repeat for multiple type of requests during the stay.
2. The room was not cleaned properly: upon arrival we discovered on one end sugar cane bits and on the other end an eaten apple!
3. The resort is new, maintenance is OK but finishing missing.
4. The worst yet: during one lunch, we presented ourselves at the welcome desk and were placed by the staff to a table.
We placed a purse on the seat while proceeding to get food at the buffet. Upon returning, the table was moved to form a bigger table (which we can understand) but imagine the surprise when no prior notice is made knowing that we were placed by the receptionist + our belongings were there
Reaction from staff was very poor.
Later, my partner went to get some dessert, she was standing in front of the station and was hit at the back of her head by a heavy tray carried by a waitress that was not looking where she was going!!! Reaction of the staff and then manager was also poor.
5. The electricity keeps on dropping few times an hour.
6. Our fridge was not working, we had to call 3 times to finally get assistance and get it replaced.
Overall at this price point, there is a minimum standard expected when it comes to the room, the cleanliness and the service.
Apart from 10% of the staff we have been in contact with, the experience was very disappointing.
