Superb

I can strongly recommend Lopesan Baobab! Very well managed and maintained hotel. Kudos!

Very clean, really delicious buffet, interesting animation and evening shows, perfect service. The territory of the hotel is amazing. Interior and exterior of the facilities is done with taste. Excellent organisation of the special Christmas events and dinner.

During winter period the pools could be a bit warmer.

Highly recommendable!

Everything was perfect! The resort is wonderfully designed and kept to the highest standard! The food choices were super and delicious, also for somebody like me who is intollerant to lactose and gluten. Thank you to all staff in the Marula Buffet. There are entertainment options for all, a little gym and many pools. We loved the Rio & Mungo pool experience.

All was good. There is nothing to complain about. None. . . .

Everything was amazing. The location, the views out of the hotel room of the mountains and dunes in the distance. The hotel at night was so aesthetic. The pool facilities were great too. The breakfast was amazing with the amount of choice we had and the staff were very accommodating. Overall 10/10 would come again every December.

Mixed Feelings at a 5-Star Property

As a frequent traveler, I've stayed at various hotels and have experienced a wide range of services and amenities. Recently, my stay at a 5-star hotel left me with mixed feelings, compelling me to share both the commendable aspects and the disappointing experiences. **The Good:** 1. **Aesthetic Appeal and Pools**: The hotel truly lives up to its 5-star rating in terms of aesthetics. The design is modern and pleasing, creating an ambiance of luxury and comfort. Additionally, the hotel boasts several pool areas, each meticulously maintained and beautifully designed, providing a perfect oasis for relaxation. The wooden, safari jungle theme is perfect. 2. **Piri Piri Restaurant**: A highlight of our stay was the Piri Piri restaurant within the hotel. Not only was the food delectable, but the service here was notably better than the rest of the hotel. The staff was attentive and courteous, ensuring a delightful dining experience.

**The Bad:** 1. **Subpar Service**: Unfortunately, the overall service didn't meet the expectations of a 5-star establishment. The most glaring issue was during check-in. We were asked to wait 30 minutes for our room, but it ended up taking 1 hour and 45 minutes, with no apology or explanation provided. This set a disappointing tone for our stay. 2. **General Service Quality**: Beyond the check-in, the service quality consistently failed to live up to the 5-star promise. Whether it was the lack of attentiveness or the general unresponsiveness of the staff, the service was more in line with a 2.5-star experience. Note that we never were met in a rude manner, but simply not close to a 5 star service. 3. **Poor Sound Insulation**: A significant drawback was the poor sound insulation between rooms. Our mornings were routinely disturbed by loud noises from neighboring rooms, the hallway, and even the cleaning staff. It often felt as though these noises were emanating from within our room, considerably disrupting our peace and sleep quality. **Conclusion:** While the hotel scores high on aesthetics and certain specific amenities like the Piri Piri restaurant, the overall experience was marred by substandard service and poor room insulation. For a property that boasts a 5-star rating, there's a significant room for improvement in terms of service quality and guest experience. This hotel, as it stands, delivers a 3,5-star experience, overshadowed by its potential to be truly exceptional.

Very good

Overall the hotel is very stylish and the experience is unforgettable.

Hotel has a very unique design of the building and surrounding garden which we highly admired every day of our 11-day stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Location is very good, too. It offers a very good access to the boulevard and reasonably fast access to the beach.

A few thinks were not up to standard and came as a big surprise: upfront payment for the entire stay, upfront 100/day (!) deposit for drinks (who drinks that much?). We travel a lot, amongst that we visit Maspalomas regularly and stayed in a few top hotels nearby and such things never happened. Also rooms were a bit run down, not everything was functioning correctly. It was a very controlled environment with our room key being swiped at many occasions, e.g. before every meal. Additionally we were always asked for the room number at the table even though it was not needed for anything as we paid for drinks by card. Internal upgrade package called Unique comes with a much bigger room - it was great. One gets, amongst the others a mini-kitchen with a kettle, teas, a small coffee machine. However, all that feels like it should have been standard 5 star experience. Food was ok, mostly focused on quantity than quality though.
