Very good

Despite end of the season and fewer guests, the food selection and quality was acceptable. Sea view facing room was very comfortable and spacious, even if not modernized for some years and also with stains on the sofa etc. Customer service / reception was very attentive and had always assured us they will double check no matter the issue we had.

Cleaning was was a bit superficial. Lack of the fridge in the room! The indoor pool heating was turned off during our stay. Children corner was disassembled, and then partially restored after our intervention.

It was great that this was a little out of the old town so it was quite compared to being in the heart of everything. The rooms were very spacious and the staff were great.

This is definitely an older hotel and the rooms and facilities reflect that.

Great expectations meet realithy

Korcula is a beautiful island with many friendly people (jewelry shops, wine shops, gelato) and compelling history. The location is fairly convenient and provides a nice walk along the port to reach old town. The views from the pool deck are quite nice, and the pool itself is quite lovely. Having breakfast and dinner available was nice; the buffet style arrangement allowed for trying a variety of food, and the staff did a fairly good job keeping the food fresh and abundant. If you run into problems, as we did, talk to Antonia. She was the one, consistent ray of sunshine and assistance.

Sadly, the pictures and descriptions do not necessarily match the rooms; the hotel is actually some distance from the water, which made the fact that I had reserved a "seaside room" somewhat "confusing". When I asked about this, I was told that this term referred to having a room on the side of the building that "closest to the sea". Initially, they gave us a room with a view of the side of the hotel and a partial view of the ocean (over the top of another hotel). Thanks to Antonia, we were able to move to a room with a view that was not dominated by a wall. As mentioned earlier, Antonia (at reception) was wonderful. We went on to learn that she was the high point--the bartender was unskilled (not so surprising when he told us he didn't drink), and the wait staff in the restaurant was surly.
