Would make everyone stay here! So great!

The location was on a beautiful open farm! The cleanliness, the views, seclusion, quiet, and host was absolutely wonderful! It was a modern feel with a rustic exterior. Blew us away!

Nothing! Everything was great! Its perfect if you have a car, since you need to get around to access places, but would be different if we didnt have transportation.

The best

1. The owner is extremely helpful and friendly. 2. Though, it is 10 miles from downtown, but the driving time is only 11 minutes. so it is actually very convinient. 3. The setting of the place is beautiful and we have our own small house. From the backyard, we can see the mountains, the view is just unbelievable. 4. It is very quiet and you can even star gazing at night, which we did and this is something I have always want to do. 5. Given the surrounding, location and facility, the price is very reasonable. If we go to Wanaka again, we will definitely stay here again.

given the price, I don't think it is reasonable to ask more.

Too expensive for what is offered

Room size was good. Shower pressure was good. Good heating facilities. Quiet.

This property is far too expensive for what it offered. We never met or experienced the welcoming and friendly hosts that were mentioned in the some of the 36 reviews. We briefly met a very quiet Ollie when we arrived. He eventually appeared when we arrived and we couldn't quite figure where to go. He didn't have much to say. There are no signs relating to the accommodation; there are 2 buildings, several doors and 2 massive garages so it was confusing. There was no milk for a cup of tea, which is something that we always have been offered upon arrival, but there were 4 dead flies on the floor and hair. Disappointed with the kitchenette facilities. Bare minimum. Less than. My bad, I didn't check to see if listing mentioned a hot plate or electric frying pan. At this price and the mention of a 'kitchenette ' I thought there would be better facilities. Also, no laundry facilities. Ollie said we could use his machine but I just felt uncomfortable in this strange place. There were no nice little touches, just brown buildings, with blinds drawn. Looked so eerie and unwelcoming. Minimalistic, to the extreme. Did not feel any warmth in what I felt was a cold, clinical setting. Bed is very firm. Too firm for me. Pillows were just inadequate. Not suitable for adults. They were insubstantial. They were there but did not function like a pillow. Very uncomfortable 2 nights. Tossed and turned. Previous reviews mentioned great views. But, in all fairness, most of Wanaka has great views. 10 minute drive from town. No signage. No bedside table so you have to put your phone glasses etc on the floor. No hooks anywhere to hang coats etc but 3 hangers in cupboard. There was no pamphlet or file or booklet containing useful info, that one normally finds inside. There was potential to make deck area cosy and pleasant but there was only a sad hard little bh. This place lacked warmth and character. I really expected a lot more at this price. So disappointed.
