Worst hotel experience I've ever had in Australia

Relatively good location

Extremely uncomfortable, dirty, and unhelpful staff. "Centrally controlled air-conditioning" was turned off on a 30+ evening, with no ability to turn it on. Only way to get any airflow was to open the sliding door - extremely noisy outside given the location, and the poor quality fly-screen meant the room was over-run with mosquitoes. Clearly we weren't the first people to suffer this, as there were squished mosquitoes all over the mirror. Utterly unhelpful staff offered nothing other than an "oh, ok" when approached with the issues the next morning. I'd sooner stay at one of the local backpackers than at Quest. Furthermore, the luggage storage was an unused hotel room. We had the pleasure of jamming our luggage into the kitchenette. When we asked the staff for luggage tags for fear of having bags mistaken or stolen, we were met with blank stares and a hollow promise of security. Even more terrifying as upon check-in later in the day, the staff member accompanying us to collect our bags had changed and had no idea who we were or which bags were ours. Without question, anyone who entered the room could have taken our bags (either accidentally or on purpose). Extremely poor practice, given I was also refused upon request to leave a bag with private work and valuable devices in a secure location. Do yourself a favour and steer well clear of this venue.

Passable

We had an issue with the plumbing and had no Hot water. It was a bit of a disappointment and unfortunately we didnt get an apology or compensated for the inconvenience.
