    rooms look dated and need updating. Last stayed in 2018 when it was a Sofitel and the standard of the rooms was better but no update or improvements in last 5 years.

    Perfect location - beautiful and comfortable hotel
    Have stayed here before. Knew it was a great hotel and so returned. Perfect location in the centre 5 mins walk from The Bund. Great, professional and warm staff. Clean, well appointed rooms, comfortable beds and good aircon. Very good breakfast too. Very relaxed, grand hotel - was amazing to come back to after a days sightseeing. Amazing spa on the 4th floor too Secret Garden . I will return to this hotel.
    Only issue was breakfast could get busy for the number of tables available so had to wait 10-15 mins for a table. This was minor though as the staff were great and tried to accommodate asap.

    Staff must learn more about customer service skill and interpersonal skill.
    Hotel's location is very convenient where nearby a shopping mall and restaurant. Second, the facility in the hotel's very good and in part of housekeeping, do their best to serve a cleanliness to customers.
    Staff's temper was not good especially a concierge man who was not smile and shout on the customers. I think if your staff was not ready to work as a customer services, should off your duty on that day or managing a person's state of mind seen in terms of their being angry or calm and SMILE!

    Very little English. Receptionist English was very poor. TV remote was in Chinese. Decoration was stained. Not well maintained. Pillow was poor and difficult to get it fixed in English.

    One Night Stay in Superior Suite
    For the price we paid for a superior suite - its really value for money considering the large size of the room. It's really a one bedroom layout with a nice lounge area for us to unpack our luggages or re-pack shopping stuff. The hotel location is superb - located just opposite Grand Shanghai hotel and right on the Nanjing shopping street. Will definitely return in future if we come to Shanghai again.
