A wonderful hotel for your first days in shanghai
For the first timer visiting Shanghai with limited time, Renaissance Shanghai Yuan Garden Hotel is the perfect choice. The main factors are location, value, and amenities and services. The hotel is right next to traditional shopping areas, Yu Garden, and few other touristy areas. It is also a walking distance to the Huang Pu River area. Although the timing was not right, December was quite cold and windy. But we really enjoyed the walk.
The property is very convenient to some popular touristy areas. Yu Garden is a must visit. The Shanghai old city street is also recommended. There are many street vendors and shopping areas that offer souvenirs with reasonable prices. In addition to the hotel restaurants, there are plenty of restaurants (big or small) around the hotel for you the choose from. The hotel breakfast was excellent! If you want to upgrade your stay, book a hotel room with the river view that would take your breath away!

Location was great, and I had a decent view of the river and skyline despite not being on the river bank . Our room was pretty spacious
