    On the banks of Loch Lomond in the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Forest, this hotel has spectacular views of Ben Lomond, the loch and mountains to the north. Rowardennan Hotel is accessible, yet remot (Read More)e. It is an hour from Glasgow, but located at the foot of Ben Lomond (974 metres high) and encircled by woodland. The hotel's Clansman bar serves hearty meals. On a warm day enjoy the scenic views of the loch and the mountains to the north from the beer garden and on a cold day heat yourself by the roaring log fire. The Rowardennan Hotel dates back to 1696 and has a contemporary Scottish style. Many of the cosy rooms have stunning views.

    A comfortable and clean stop along the WHW
    The room is large enough and well appointed. The bar is nice and property has some great views over the loch. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is good and filling before continuing on with the hike. The staff were friendly and provided good service.
    It's one of the more expensive stays on the WHW so can't give a high value rating. There is a green light illuminating the exit that could be on a motion sensor so the room can be full dark for sleeping.

    Good location on the WHW, restaurant was fine and breakfast was adequate. Nice patio in the back if the weather is good.
    The chalet/cottage (whatever they call it) is over in a holiday park that requires carrying your luggage fair distance over loose gravel as you follow vague instructions to track down an unmarked building. Some signage would be nice if you are going to send people on a wild goose chase. Rooms are very poorly thought out for hikers esp. if you find yourself wet or muddy. Like most bathrooms needs somewhere that you can set your toiletries. Have stayed in the hostel 10 years prior while on the WHW and it was a much better experience.

    Good value for money and well located if you are walking the WHW
    Upon arrival we were given an upgrade to one of the larger rooms of the hotel; very nice after a long day of walking. The staff was very kind and welcoming and we had a lovely dinner at the hotel's restaurant.
    The room did have some things that could use some maintenance such as a coat of paint (window frames, bathroom blinds).

    A restful stay in a great location
    Comfortable, clean and quiet room, decent food and great location for the West Highland Way. Very friendly receptionist and staff in general were friendly.
    It was a bit dated and the choice of drinks on tap was limited.

    Location was lovely and front desk staff was friendly.
    Coffee was instant nestle coffee. Why is this a thing?

    Does what it says on the tin.
    The location and the facilities. Yes the building is a bit tired but we were in the lodges which were bright and airy. The bar serves good wholesome food just whats required while hiking. The staff are all pleasant and knowledgeable. The only downside I feel is the number of staff is not enough during peak times. But the staff there are all go the extra mile.
    Only small gripe was carrying the large cases to the lodge on the river gravel path. But not really a big deal.
