Lovely place to time time out and relax while in Scotland

Beautiful hotel - you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere and have no need to go elsewhere if you dont want to. Lovely staff, great cosy rooms to sit by the fire, great restaurant. Spa is simple but has all facilities you could want.

Noisy room - with deliveries arriving very early in the morning. Also noises from other hotel rooms. Could be better sound-proofed

Nice hotel but check before booking if there will be an event at the hotel that limits the service.

Location and breakfast were good.

Hotel had a wedding so there was no lunch service and we felt uncomfortable going to the bar when it was filled with with the wedding guests. We had to pay for a taxi to go into town instead of staying at the hotel to enjoy the facilities and relax. Would have been good to have been advised this at the time of booking so we could have booked elsewhere.

It was okay but would find a different hotel next time we visit that area.

It was a beautiful old property very Scottish

Our room was so tiny could hardly fit our suitcase in and we were there 3days. They were short staffed and had too many things going on at once so as an hotel guest we felt neglected to others from outside, parking and meal booking, we were told there was no room so had to go to Inverurie for dinner on Christmas Eve.

Great stay and looking forward to going back.

Rooms were comfortable and warm, ideal when the temperature outside was -7! Staff were excellent, friendly and professional. Staff were very accommodating with our dog.

Not really a criticism but as it's an old building the public areas like the lounge were a bit cold so take an extra layer if you feel cold - can't be helped and if you get close to the log fires not an issue.

Great last minute stop over

We booked literally 30 mins before arriving as we were stranded due to storm Gerrit. After 12 hours in the car it was such a relief to find such a welcoming hotel. The staff were wonderful, very helpful and gave our pup lots of attention. Handy dog poo bins dotted around the grounds. Comfortable room and lovely bar area.

A little bit more lighting from the car park area, there were quite a few pot holes and puddles to negotiate in the dark!

The main principal rooms had the type of decor I was hoping for in the Scottish countryside! - lovely dining room, cosy cocktail lounge - all nicely decorated for Christmas too. The staff were very cheery and helpful. The bedroom and facilities were comfortable.

The changerooms in the spa area could use a thorough dusting. (ladies' changerooms)
