    The historic Buccaneer boasts 131 accommodations in a country club atmosphere on 340 tropical acres. Family-owned and operated since 1947. The Buccaneer is located 7 minutes from historic Christiansted for dining, sightseeing and boating options, and twenty minutes to St Croix’s airport. A variety of accommodations and bedding are offered, all with balconies or patios and mini-refrigerators. Breakfast is included, as well as a welcome drink, daily maid service, snorkeling, kayaks, paddle boards and a variety of guest activities and entertainment.     It was a nice stay, except few little glitches.
    Great food, wonderful beaches and perfect place to stay.
    The hostess in Mermaid restaurant was not v nice. We had a reservation for a dinner on Tuesday night, it was made a few days in advance. She offerred us the worst table in the back of the restaurant, next to the entrace to the kitchen, no air flow. People with no reservation were seated in the prime locatoins. She made a big deal, when we asked to be seated in a better place with the view outside.

    The ambiance was exceptional. The hotel staff and restaurant staff were outstanding.
    The only issue we had was the vanity in the bathroom was not draining properly. The maintenance staff was not able to resolve this issue during our visit.

    I appreciated the views of the water from my room. I also enjoyed the live music at dinner.
    The breakfast was below average for a buffet line. Additionally, it wasn't ready on the line when breakfast was scheduled to start and did not all come out by the time I was done eating what I selected based on what was presented. Conflicting information about the need for reservations for dinner. Documentation stated reservations were recommended, however, the bar-server said they were required. Even with the reservation "made" and being the only person in the restaurant, I wasn't seated at my reservation time.

    Resort property bouncing back?
    The rooms in the main house, the view, the property. Food and beverage manager and one waiter were attentive. On-property transportation was great, especially drivers. Golf course was good, despite dry conditions and consistent winds.
    Many of the staff need basic service training. Food and beverage usually took 30 or more minutes to arrive and there was almost no followup. The GM seemed lost and not in control. Usually tough to get a cocktail. Food was 5-star price and 3-star quality.

    I was expecting something better since it was expensive. We are disappointed.
    Breakfast was very good
    There was a plumbing issue in our room. The water was coming up from the bathtub and toilet. The place smell really bad and it took some time for the staff to move us to another room Then we got a new room and we felt we were downgraded, since the room didn't have the big mirror and we were far away from the amenities and the beach.

    It was really a dream vacation and noone wanted to leave!!!
    The resort and location is breath taking!!! The staff are all so friendly and accomadating!! They make you feel like family from the start. The resort is perfectly located, not too far from town, yet far enough. There is so much to do right there you don't even have to leave. It is literally heaven on earth. We didn't want to leave!!!
    If I had to say anything bad, is that for the price it would have been nice to have at least a microwave in the room. A small W/D would have been amazing with a 1 week stay and 4 kids.

    The Buccaneer was an amazing place to relax and have romance. The property is beautiful and so are the people.
    We loved the ambiance of the resort and the ability to relax. The added bonus is that this place is in paradise. The staff was more than hospitable and friendly.
    We have zero complaints other than it would be nice for the resort to be all inclusive.
