Very good

A very nice and comfy hotel

Hotel is located in a gorgeous environment, room was comfy and clean, we couldnt hear any noise. Restaurant offered delicious food, but it was a bit dear.

Spa didnt have jacuzzi, pool was not lit properly and we could hardly find a well-lit spot to read in.

Exceptional

Our stay was very comfortable with excellent food , made even better with very pleasant staff .

First of all we have to highlight the amazing people / staff , who work at this hotel as they were all very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay even more comfortable and enjoyable . The food again was excellent and well presented to which was served by a kind gentleman who couldnt do enough for us . We sat down and ate in loverly surroundings near a fully stocked bar which at the time was run by a very smiley young lady who again made us very welcome . The room was very clean and tidy with a stocked fridge along with a coffee machine , biscuits , etc . A very large tv was also in our room with free internet available . Iron and ironing board along with a hairdryer was in our room plus a large trouser press which makes the ironing much easier . A safe is also inside the wardrobe with hangers for clothes and spare towels etc . Breakfast was probably the best selection I myself have ever witnessed and once again with very pleasant staff on hand to help - literally everything and anything you want on offer , cooked or uncooked , the variety with food and drinks are immense and only in a top hotel in London have I seen this . Bed was soft and comfortable and the heating definitely works as the room was roasting when we first walked in which was no problem because the windows opened to let air in and heating was very easy to manage so we turned it off . These cold winter days , its nice to know we will be warm and cosy . There are many treatments on offer within the spa as well as a large swimming pool which looks great . Unfortunately myself and my wife didnt get the opportunity to complete our full stay and get to use these facilities due to an emergency at home with a poorly child which was a real shame especially for my wife as this break was for her . The hotel is situated around 3 to 4 minutes drive to Iron Bridge bliss hill village with is where we were going for Christmas .

Superb

Great Hotel!

I loved the room, so comfortable, and I did not need to ask for an iron, as one already provided. The staff were friendly and helpful, reception staff, The Gorge Bar staff and Spa staff. I had a lovely farewell from a cheerful member of the housekeeping staff.

The dinner at 1779 restaurant was not good. The fish (Hake) was undercooked and the chips were cold. I did mention to a member of staff who kindly served me a free non-alcoholic drink, which was very kind of her. The meal was 29.00 and I was not pleased to have spent so much money on an insufficient meal. I did not wish to make a fuss as other diners were present, but quietly mentioned at the end of the meal.
