Skye headquarters, great kitchen, loch and sheep views
It was in the perfect place for a home base for a family visit to Skye. We loved the view of the loch, the mountains, and the changing sky, and the visiting sheep! The kitchen was very well set up for us to make dinners and pack picnic lunches, which were very much needed on Skye as so many restaurants are booked and some of the coolest things to see are in the remote parts of the island where you really want a picnic after a hike. Mrs. Nicholson was very accommodating of our late arrival and made sure everything was going well for us. Loved the floor heat as well, responsive to each room, lovely to pad about in socks in the morning to have tea gazing at the loch, and the shower was perfect too
I forgot how spoiled I am by quick American washers and dryers, be sure to leave enough time!

    Lovely Tigh na Creag
Very welcoming, warm and cozy cottage. The place was spotless when we checked in! The view from the living room is to die for. It was a bit hard to look for the cottage especially when driving at night but other than that, the location is excellent, quite close to Portree (around 15mins drive) and other tourist spots. The heated flooring was amazing, board games and jigsaw puzzles are also provided for entertainment. Excellent indeed. Will definitely stay here again. Thank you Tigh na Creag as you made Skye more memorable!
Dryer took quite a while to dry our clothes but there is an excellent heated drying rack that does the job well. Not a problem for us but there is no tea/coffee/sugar provided so make sure to pop down to Portree Co-op to get some if you deem these as essentials.

Perfect just what was required for a relaxing family holiday
The house was comfortable and clean and warm and cozy when we arrived on a very wet windy day. Nothing was too much trouble for Nikki our host. The location was perfect for exploring Magical Skye :-)

    You couldn't pick anywhere better.
Pretty much everything was spot on at this property. It was much more spacious than I expected and also very warm a cosy in the late January storms of Malik and Corrie. The underfloor heating is fantastic. The entrance room contains a washing machine & tumble drier so I could pack less and wash half-way through the week. It was also a perfect area for discarding wet boots and coats and also contained a cupboard with some board games. The living room was light and airy with a great view out of the floor to ceiling picture windows. It had space for four people to be seated comfortably. The TV was an old Sky system but without a viewing card so only the free sat channels were available. The adjoining kitchen/diner was well apointed and had everything you needed, although there wasn't a small welcome pack for anyone arriving without having shopped first. This wasn't a problem for me but be aware. Bedroom 1 had a large double bed and bedroom 2 had two single beds and an ensuite shower room with the best shower I have used in a long time. Powerful and hot. The main bathroom had a large bath and toilet. Outside there was a small seating area with a bench/table and a space for parking a car. There was also more parking space outside the gate on the property which is located almost exactly halfway between Portree and Broadford, both of which have large Co-op supermarkets and other facilities and are about 20 minutes away by car. There are a few restaurants close by; Sconser Lodge Hotel is a few hundred yards and Sligachan Hotel about 3 miles, although neither was open at the time of year I visited, but I knew this before I left. There are plenty of places to eat in the two nearby towns. Sonser is well located for getting pretty much anywhere on the island in a reasonable time, for example, it was an hours drive to Staffin, 35 mins to Dunvegan, 30 minutes to the Skye Bridge and 50 minutes to Elgol.
One minor thing, I wished there had been a bluetooth speaker of somekind to playsome of my own music.
