    About This Property

This 17th-century guest house is an historical building on a quiet, traditional street. It is in Oxford city centre, surrounded by Oxford University colleges, a 2-minute walk from all the shops. The Tower House has charming old features, such as wooden ceiling beams. The rooms are decorated and furnished to match the building's history and style. There are also modern touches, like tea/coffee, free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV (with Freeview). The deluxe rooms were once a tower that formed part of the medieval city walls, which gives the building the name Tower House. The owners are not always on site; you must state your expected arrival time when booking.

    Pleasant
Great location but very over priced.
    Location and a comfortable bed
A bit disappointing. Far too expensive for what it is. Noisy room, you can hear other guests walking around and the traffic is noisy in the early morning. There was also a workman drilling at around 0900 on Friday morning from an adjacent property. Plus shower is prone to blocking.

Beautiful, grade II listed building with fantastic amenities. The perfect stay in Oxford.
The house is beautiful and it feels like you are staying in a part of the history of Oxford. The amenities are fantastic and the room was spacious and incredibly clean, with beautiful white linen and gorgeous furnishings. There was a TV and a kettle for making coffee or tea in the morning. The location couldnt be better, as its so central but the room was still incredibly quiet. The view from my room was also stunning.
The shower in the ensuit room could be improved but the rest of the room is so perfect that it more than makes up for it.

    Would like to stay again
I'm a sucker for historical properties and this was a delightful find. The room was small for a double but we managed perfectly well even through last minuet ballgown alterations. It was comfortable and cozy with a beautiful view of part of the university. The street was pretty quiet at night and while i'm not usually keen on shared bathrooms the facilities were in good condition. I would like to stay again just to properly experience the area more and the convenience of staying so central and to get a better feel for the property as a whole. It was also quite funny to hear the local tour guides during the day and the buzz of the students and locals.
While the property and location were great I would advise caution if you are traveling by car. I booked expecting little parking however it was worse than expected, please do your research if this is a deal breaker. There was no parking in the immediate area, small dead end roads are common. We had to park ten to fifteen minuets walk away in an expensive car park and get up very early to move the car to another carpark to avoid the inner city clean air tariffs. We also had to leave early to avoid this when leaving. None of this is the fault of the property but it is something to keep in mind if like us you are traveling with a lot of luggage or even children please be aware.

Great location, would stay here agin.
The gentleman at the front desk was extremely helpful. I needed to make a phone call to the next hotel at which I was staying, and he let me use the phone. He also emailed me ahead of time to ask when I was planning on arriving.
There's no breakfast, and the ceilings are low. But I knew this ahead of time.

Well worth the price and stories!
Liked the location, it was old and quirky. Which we like!
The shower. Likes the idea of a rectangle, but it didnt work. Square is the answer.

    Passable
Just what we needed, but needs some maintenance.
Excellent location and flexible check in. Room lovely and warm, even on a very cold day. Comfortable bed
The room (Red room) needs a refurb, everything just about working, but needs effort to repair or renew things to keep it suitable, especially at the price. Eg loose headboard, bathroom light, overloaded sockets.
