Nice for short break ,bit petty with the water tea coffee etc would go back on the whole

Clean , great location, great to watch fire works of the roof after the gala dinner

No new tea / milk coffee top up In morning in the room , bar service slow , no new water in room had to buy ,would not open other bar had to go to roof bar to buy water, room had very little shower gel etc

Turim Santa Maria, Spectacular

The welcome was so warm and set the tone for our whole holiday. The staff went above and beyond, the room was clean and spacious with an amazing view. The breakfast was excellent too. The bed linen and towels were high quality.

Only thing missing was teaspoons and milk from the room which we had to keep asking for.

Nice location, clean and tidy. The breakfast was very good but we were out on the evenings so cant comment on the hotel meals

The bed in our room was an exceptionally hard mattress. It may just have been that particular room but it made for an awkward restless sleep. We dont usually bother about basics but this is worth noting if you prefer a medium or soft mattress.

Very nice hotel with room for improvement

The hotel is very well located, only a short walk to the waterfront (all downhill) and several bus stops. Breakfast was generally good. They had scrambled eggs, bacon, mushrooms and beans daily, with hashbrowns and mixed veggies on alternating days. The rest of the offering included fresh cut fruit (pineapple, kiwi, oranges, grapes), yoghurts, sliced cheeses (about 5 types), sliced meats (turkey & ham). They had baked apples as well which was nice. The bread section had at least four types on offer including mini Bolo do Caco bread. There were usually about 4 dessert type bakes on offer. The breakfast room was especially nice, large and plenty of seating even when busy. I would particularly like to highlight the gentleman who cleared the tables as he did so swiftly! Bed was comfortable and the room decently appointed. The shower was nice (good water pressure). Our room had a safe and it was easy to use. Staff generally pleasant and managed an earlier check in as our flight arrived early. This was much appreciated!

Its 4 stars at a push. Our room (211) needs a bit of attention. The wallpaper by the bathroom was peeling, and the shower head was looking a bit old and lower quality than what I would expect from a 4 star. Walls could use a fresh coat of paint, too. If redoing the bathroom I would suggest a higher toilet, too as this one was quite low. The rooms should come with bottle openers, better coffee & tea options, and stirring spoons. A two person sofa would be nice instead of a single chair (there was ample room for it). The bistro set on the balcony was adequate but not in keeping with a 4-star hotel. Breakfast was always great food-wise but on the last two days staff struggled to keep up with demand. For example eggs would (predictably) run out when it got busy but staff had to be notified to replace them.
