    About This Property

This impressive Victorian building has a splendid cliff-top location with stunning views of Cardigan Bay. It offers free parking and a restaurant, and is less than a mile from Barmouth’s centre. Each room at this 4-star guest accommodation has a TV and DVD player, as well as free tea and coffee. Most rooms enjoy lovely sea views, whilst all have a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Built in the 1880s for a famous gunmaker, Tyr Graig Castle was designed to resemble both a castle and a double-barrelled shotgun. Today it still has original features, including stained glass windows. The lounge has a log fire and drinks are available from the adjoining conservatory bar. There is also a terrace with superb views over the water. Overlooking Cardigan Bay, Tyr Graig’s restaurant offers traditional home-cooked British and Welsh food. The creative menu is made with the finest local, fresh and seasonal produce.

    Lovely hotel
We were very impressed with everything about our stay. A friendly welcome & a relaxed homely feel about the place. Great location high above the sea with great views from our room and the dining area. We only had a standard room but it was comfy & quiet and suited our needs perfectly. Despite being told on arrival there was a reduced menu because of the time of year, we found there was plenty of choice and the meals were excellent with generous portions. The full English breakfasts were also very good. The bathroom was a little on the small side but was adequate for our needs. The shower was hot & powerful. If we ever come back to Barmouth we will definitely stay here again.

Looking forward to staying again as nothing really would put us off seeing the great views again.
Set in a great location its a period property and the owner has retained almost all of its character. Its fantastic they will provide a evening meal on requests and there is a well stocked bar. The breakfast menu is very good and the staff are very accommodating. Very quiet and a relaxed atmosphere.
Our en-suite was a bit small but the owners had made the most of the area available and provided shampoos and soaps which made up for it a bit. Local public transport is hit and miss out of season.

A lovely hotel for a short break with an amazing breakfast
The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was really nice, so much choice and a great view. The walk into Barmouth and back was nice and not too steep.
The room was immaculately clean but on entering the room it smelt fausty, it seemed ok in the actual room.

    Fine for short stay.
Nice view from the turret room. The hotel is dated but clean. Bathroom was very small in need of update. Lounge area fine for short stay. Breakfast was good did not have evening meal. Walked into the town centre only about 15 mins and quite pleasant
For the price I cannot complain but as stated dated and small bathroom
