No towels in the room when we arrived. Owner frequently not around. Single small window in this basement suite, not sure if it was fire safe.

You are paying for a quiet room in a house in a nice neighborhood. Thats it.

A place to stay. More affordable than hotels. Nice neighborhood. The hosts were nice. They had basic amenities available such as a communal refrigerator and use of dishes.

The bed was so extremely squeaky that neither of us slept well. I regretted not just getting a hotel because of that.
