Acceptable overall for a 2 night stay with views, location, kitchen & size compensating partly.

Good location with superb views of the lake from the large garden of the property, which had several deck chairs to soak in view. Nice kitchen, well stocked with conveniences like utensils and crockery, with doors opening to the garden & views and a nice-sized table for a group of 4. The villa was large and well appointed with a large living room with several couches, a half bath on the ground floor near the kitchen and the 2nd floor with 3 bedrooms (1 ensuite) and another bathroom, with an attic containing washing machine. Would be good value for a group of 6. We were 3.

The villa could have been aired before our arrival and information on the heating system wasn't available on the Info booklet in the villa. The villa was quite musty smelling when we got in. Perhaps because it hadn't been let for the preceding 4 months as we were informed? The heating system indicated it was in test mode? As it was quite late in the night when we realised the heating issue, we decided not to disturb the agent on the heating and were happy we found thicker quit cover inserts to keep ourselves warm at night. Bathrooms, especially the master needs some work. The cistern was leaking (into the toilet bowl, presumably) and refilling noisily constantly and walls show effects of water leakage, peeling and caking at the base. While the location was great for views and sights, might be good to inform guests of the fairly steep cobblestone slope (which was very slippery after rain) one has to climb to reach the property. Then guests could wear shoes and carry luggage appropriate for the location.

Great location. Worth the climb to get to the views.

The property had beautiful surroundings with amazing lake views. Two fantastic bedrooms.

The other two rooms were very small. A bit of a strenuous hike up to the house on a very rocky driveway.

Great location, uncomfortable beds, spacious house

The location was perfect - close to both the ferry station and the train station! The house was gorgeous - lots of space to spread out. Sitting on the back terrace to eat was lovely. The view was incredible! Very clear direction from the host.

There were motion sensors in every bathroom and bedroom. (We were worried they were cameras.) They would flash evey time you moved in bed - illuminating the entire bedroom. We had to cover them in order to keep the lights from flashing all night. Beds were quite uncomfortable - so hard that one of our guests had to move to the couch to be able to sleep. Loud, leaking toilet in master bathroom. Very dark outside at night due to insufficient lighting. Bring a flashlight!

Amazing place to stay - relax in the garden enjoying the view

The place is amazing with a great view from the garden and bedrooms of the lake and mountains. The rooms are spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. This is a great place to stay as you are central to everything and have a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of lake Como.

The walk from the train is very short however the last bit is up a steep hill along cobble stones. While it was OK for us it you have mobility issues it may be difficult to get to or you may need assistance.

Walk To Villa Is extremeley steep, the views are incredible.

The view was incredible.

The walk to the villa from the train station is for inshape healthy people. To get to the villa (on the mountainside) requires good health and especially good knees. We stopped several times to catch our breath and you turn a corner and the next incline is even steeper. Dragging your luggage up the steep inclines was definitely a huge negative. The town is back down on the main level. At the villa there were small inconvenient issues, like were no mugs for tea or coffee just glasses, no blankets on the beds, just a sheet. The a/c switched on at night, but doesnt switch off and it gets freezing. There were motion sensors (I hope not cameras) that were not activated on the first night, but the second night if you rolled over in you bed a blue light started flashing in the dark above the bathroom door. The same in the other bedrooms. You are told you cannot all use electricity at the same time, like the microwave and a hairdryer, it will flip the circuit breaker. The windows are new and huge which makes the views incredible. The kitchen is modern, but lacking some basic supplies. The rest of the villa is old and musty, if you open a draw or cabinet it smells so musky. It's quite a difference like half of the villa has been modernized and half is still waiting to be fixed. It's big enough and we had lots of room. But I would never stay here again. The walking to the town from the villa is brutal. If you are over 50, the walk up to the villa is demanding. You can only wear sneakers and the cobble pathways are not easy to walk on.

Stunning villa full of character, beautiful decoration

The place is so much better than the pictures! Its a stunning villa all around, with character and charming spaces. Wish wed made more use of the space and the garden. Not accessible by car, or rather you have to walk up a path for 3 mins but we got some help bringing the suitcases up. Location is great also, really close by the ferry, for example. Thank you.

While its a whole 3-bedroom villa, and I would definitely come back, for the price it could do with a little investment in bed linens, toiletries, and a little more forthcoming communication with the person who checks you in.
