    A wonderful way to experience the exquisite beauty of Lake Como from the comfort of the Villa from dawn to dark.
    The views from both our room and a shared balcony were spectacular. Communication and responsiveness for check-in and check-out were excellent. The bathroom, which was not en suite but adjacent and enclosed with the room through a privacy curtain, looked new and was very clean.
    Off peak season (end Oct) finding a taxi to bring us to the property after 7 pm was a challenge one night. The smell of mildew on the ground floor, which was thankfully not present on the level where the rooms are.

    I did enjoy this stay because the building is beautiful. I love the history and if you was fabulous, I think with just a
    The villa is old and interesting and high on the hill so the view of the lake is spectacular. You can see theres a lot of history here. Everything was very clean the bathroom, especially. The TV service was awesome. Netflix was one of the choices and I saw some really good documentaries.
    I was in the king bed, the mattress was hard. It really could use a foam topper and the springs squeaked. The pillows were not very good, they were heavy and lumpy. On the second night, I believe some people were upstairs moving furniture around for about an hour and a half off and on, extremely annoying, after 11 pm.

    The place has a magnificent view from the balcony , but location is less ideal without own transport
    I liked Luigi. He went out of his way to sort out any issue I had. Also, I loved the view. It was breath taking. Another bonus is that there is a restaurant with very nice food just outside the gates of the villa. Another bar and a shop are just few minutes walk from the villa.
    I didn't like that there were bugs in the room at my arrival , which Luigi kindly got rid off , but still it was on my mind during the stay. Also , for someone who doesn't have a car is a very hard place to get to. It takes you about 45 min down the hill and is a bit dangerous as there is no walking path. Sunday there is no bus service and during the week the last bus can take you back to the villa around 5:45 pm.

    This is a review of the "room with king bed and a balcony". The view from the balcony is stunning. The bathroom was pretty decent and clean. There is a bistro next by (open Thu-Sun now) and a shop within a few minutes walk.
    The furnishings are a bit squalid. Wardrobes smell, we decided to leave our belongings in the backpacks. The bed was squeaky, pillows were like made of stones. There wasn't any basics cosmetics as indicated in the offer and a message, just a soap. There was a coffee machine in the room, but no way to boil some water. Two glasses were available, however they were dirty. Well, it wasn't sth terrible, but I'm indicating some basics here that can be easily checked before arrival of the guests. The garden requires a lot of work, it's not well maintained. A lot of "sacred paintings" in the room and the building.

    Great location, basic amenities in our room
    Fantastic location overlooking Lake Como high above Varenna. The property is a whole Villa, but the property is split into several rooms/ apartments, the one we had (Camera Figli) had access to an outside terrace. The lovely bathroom (which was not ensuite) was down the shared corridor, was very clean and had both shower and bidet. There was a small fridge in the room. There was a coffee machine but no cups. There is a flat screen TV with access to Netfix and other satellite channels. Villa is next to a great restaurant ( La Fonte) and a short walk to a supermarket. There were other rooms that were private and had there own terrace, we would book a different room if we stay again.

    There was little privacy as the room we had was off a shared corridor. The room was very basic, twin beds, no drawers at all, just a wardrobe. The terrace was shared. There was no fan or air conditioning. The road is very steep to the property and we only saw 2 buses the whole time we were there. Taxis are available, but you need to pre book.

    Beautiful views from the upstairs common patio.
    Property has unkepted gardens. Lots of ants by the steps. Room was too small with 2 beds which i do not recall booking. Mattress and pillows smelled like cat pee. Had to use clean towels to cover pillows. Bathroom is not connected to the room we had. Wardrobe smelled like mothballs and couldn't open the doors because the bed prevents the doors to open.. We where supposed to stay 3 nights but left that property the next day.

    Adorable villa not far from Varenna
    Location is perfect. 15minutes bus ride from Varenna train station. Bus stop right by the villa. The view is amazing, even if you have a room without balcony, there are multiple common ones. Host Luigi is very nice, communication was smooth in English.
