Brief stay to recharge

The property is well appointed internally, secure and perfect for families. You just need to consider transport if you have little ones.

Location is rather remote. You need a car or taxi numbers. There is a small town about 20 minutes walk away which has all you need.

The beds were spotless and comfortable. It was great to have a private pool.

It seemed expensive. 1000 euro on credit card incase of breakages at the start of a holiday that took a while to get back after we'd left. 250 euro cleaning fees in cash on arrival for pool cleaning etc. Overall the property more suited to adults sharing the expense and also the stone staircase and glass banisters although feeling luxurious wouldn't suit young children. Difficult enough to get a taxi. Expense aside and learning to live with ants we actually had a lovely family holiday and factored the twenty minute or so walk to the shops into the daily routine.

The villa was clean and well maintained. A shower room for each bedroom was very useful and the pool was a good size for relaxing. The bedrooms are a good size with the ground floor having a separate door to outside, one 1st floor room having an additional double bed that folds up to the wall, and the final larger bedroom opening out to the terrace. Plenty of putlets available to plug in chargers, lights, hair tools etc and hair dryers supplied in the bathroom cabinets. A short walk to the clean beach which was pleasantly quiet, or in the opposite direction into the village where all of the locals are friendly and a good selection of shops and places to eat. The TV has Netflix with English films & series available so good for entertaining children. Plenty cupboard and fridge space for groceries and the dishwasher & washing machine available are a welcome addition. John was especially helpful when meeting us at the property, available to help with any questions we had, and giving recommendations on places to eat & visit. We did not rent a car as usually walk at home, and the 3 & 4 year olds with us happily walked to the centre & back so it really is an ideal location for relaxing. If you are looking for shopping or other "activities" then you would require a car. The fence is high enough you have complete privacy but doesn't obstruct the sun in any way for those wanting to work on a tan. I would definitely look to return to this villa in the future.

Nothing we disliked but would not recommend for toddlers given the hard surfaces, type of stairs and glass. Perhaps a few more pillows for the beds would be advantageous but this is personal preference.

The villa was really good for six people. There were three bedrooms and a nice bathroom for each. Air conditioning was powerful and controllable for each bedroom separately. There was a parking spot in front of the villa within the gates and the port was nicely operable with a remote control. Own pool was really nice, even though it was a little small. Gas barbeque was a big bonus and the neighborhood was really calm. The beach was within walking distance. At the beach you were able to rent a deck chair, buy beverages and some food. There is a bus going from La Marina center to Alicante. The price was not bad but we were unable to find the schedule online. The host was really nice and helpful and she even offered us a ride to a grocery store when she realized we did not initially have a car :)

The cleaning fee of the villa was mandatory to pay with cash upon arrival and this came as a surprise to us. The fee was 250 but as we only had 200 in cash, we were able to pay the rest together with the rent of the villa with a credit card. The cleaning fee only included the final cleaning and a couple times the cleaning of the pool. Interior and the terrace floor we needed to keep clean ourselves during the week. The closest grocery store is ~1.5 kilometers away and as drinking the villa water was forbidden by the rental rules you really need to carry a lot of water. The supermarkets were ~5 kilometers away so already this makes it pretty much essential to have a car. Especially when getting a taxi was next to impossible. We tried multiple taxi companies and some of them did not even offer a ride and some said it would take at least 2 hours to get a taxi to the villa. There was a balcony on the second floor and a sundeck at the top of the villa but they both lacked chairs. The deck chairs in the yard were old and some of them were broken. There were lots of ants inside and outside the villa. You needed to take out trash immediately and keep all food off the floor to avoid massive invasion. The dumpster for the thrash was alongside the road towards La Marina some 200 meters away. Still we are not sure if that was the right place for your thrash but we didnt find other options.
