The TWO Hotel Barcelona by Axel 4* Sup- Adults Only is praised for its helpful location near a metro stop and friendly staff at reception. Guests enjoyed comfortable and nice rooms, although some fel (Read More)t the distribution and use of spaces were unusual. The rooftop was also appreciated, although some wanted more lounge chairs. There were mixed reviews about the breakfast options. Some guests experienced issues with their rooms initially but were able to change and have a better experience. The hotel could improve on the craftsmanship, pool maintenance, and breakfast quality.

What I expected.

Friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable room. Funny "disturb" sign. Good breakfast with friendly waiter.

Balcony: tiny! and my colleague who paid for a room without balcony had the same balcony I paid for!

scam messages and generally underwhelming stay

Location is very central, just a moment from metro. You can also walk around and find nice bars/restaurants. Rooms are okay, quite functional and generally clean. Coffee/tea in the rooms is appreciated. Staff is trying to be helpful.

I got several scam messages from the hotel through booking.com to "confirm my credit card". Both booking.com and hotel responses came quite late and I can imagine that many people might have been scammed. Not sure what is the extend of the breach but i found it very upsetting. Not sure if this was the reason that upon arrival at the hotel, I needed to present my credit card. I could not do that, since the card was a "virtual web" one, so the process took quite long to cancel the reservation on the original card and make the charge from scratch. The setup of the rooms is nice but i don't see why bathroom is separate from toilet. No practical reason. No natural light in my room (facing back of the hotel), which is not good. Noise from the corridors can also be heard. Noisy a/c and a general underwhelming feeling.

Convenient hotel.

Central location, very convenient with 5 mins walk to the train station. The hotel allowed me to do early check in which was really helpful as I arrived early in the morning.

Room was very small and it did not have a fridge.

Design of the room offers no division between bathroom and bedroom. So no privacy. Also aircon left a moisture smell that needed to be aired out.

A disaster

Nothing.

It was a disaster. The worst hotel Ive been in. Nothing was working properly. The room smelled poppers and the staff was totally unprofessional. You can see they dont care. The spa is not a spa. This is a cold pool outside and a 1 square meter dysfunctional steam bath outside too. I asked to go to other axel hotel spa and they said its possible for 15/hour. Axel hotels aged very bad. This is pure scam.
