    Quality hotel and very well appointed.
    The location and presentation of this Hotel is wonderful. Loved that biomass is being used to heat the hotel bedrooms and spa..a very important factor for us that they are environmentally responsible.
    There was a fire alarm that went off in the middle of the night.. we all got up and out of our rooms etc but there seemed to be no reason for it and no acknowledgment that this was a fault..it was really disturbing and meant we had a terrible night.. given that it was only a one night stay for us as a birthday treat, it rather ruined the stay. However, these things happen and it wouldnt put me off coming to stay again.. just some acknowledgment would have been nice.

    Lovely hotel in picturesque setting on river. Enjoyed restaurant. Good location for walking and garden visits.
    Not a great view from room over roof and ventilation ducts.

    Comfortable and relaxing stay in a friendly hotel close to the coast with great walking and sight seeing.
    It sits in a beautiful area with stunning views and lots of coastal walks close by. Dog friendly hotel but limited to where you can eat/ relax in the hotel with a dog. Helpful and friendly staff
    The hotel is a little tired in places although the bedroom was lovely.

    Room was fabulous Bar was friendly, comfortable, lovely big fireplace Breakfast, very tasty and beautifully prepared and servec Dinner menu is excellent Gardens are a hidden gem All staff consistently friendly and lovely
    Pool and spa could do with some updating

    A lovely country hotel set in nice area for walks.
    Country House Hotel set in a lovely valley garden with walk to river. The food was wonderful, dinner had a good choice inc vegetarian, wine choice was good and well priced. Breakfast was of a standard for this type of establishment.
    Always hate the king size bed that is two zipped together, have yhey never slept together in their room, especially a superior one !!

    Very nice but...
    Location, service, food, all very good. The walks in the area are great. Gardeners will love the various places to visit nearby.
    The hotel is rather tired. The en suite toilet blocked for no apparent reason on the second day. The shower and bath were lukewarm, cold on one occasion. Carpets frayed in places. All a bit rustic in a genteel way.

    Food service and quality of food was exceptional. Some would say expensive but the produce was the best.
    I didn't like the walk up to the room on the third floor but exersice is good

    Lovely location but overall a disappointment
    Nice location. Food was excellent and the staff were friendly. The pool was a good size.
    Rooms and communal areas were not very clean. Fixtures and fittings were damaged in the bedroom. The hotel was very hot and stuffy. Some of the decor was tired and in need of a refresh.
