When I arrived at this hotel, I was a little worried since the outside of many of the buildings could use some maintenance. Likewise, I had difficulty finding the front desk. I was told they are doing construction, so they are not in their usual location. Check-in took a moment since the phone did not stop ringing; however, the desk clerk did her best to handle the calls and get us checked in. When we walked into the room, we quickly noticed that the first floor was significantly colder than the second floor. After reading the packet from the front desk, we learned that it is common for the first floor to be cooler. Thankfully we were able to get some standing fans to make the second floor more comfortable for bedtime. I would strongly advise anyone who stays at this location during the summer to consider bringing or preparing to buy fans because the second floor can be unbearable with the high temperatures of El Paso. The use of two standing fans made our one-night stay comfortable.
This hotel is suitable for families since they offer two-bedroom and two-bathroom suites. I am not sure if all the rooms are the same, but ours had an upstairs and downstairs with a room and bathroom on each floor. Overall, the room seemed clean, but the carpets were filthy, and I noticed lots of hair in one of the tubs. In addition, the restroom had amenities, although we brought our own. The kitchen was nice but could use deep cleaning in the fridge. I could see leftover food on some of the services, so I carefully stored our food. The pool area looked inviting. However, we did not use it since many people were inside. If you have young children, understand that the room on the second floor does not have a cover around the top, which makes it a hazard for younger children and or pets. Other than the safety hazard, dirty carpets, and fridge, I would stay here again. For almost $300 a night, however, I would expect an immaculate living area.
