Excellent location but hotel not deserving of its current star rating
Location is fantastic - very close to the train station and right beside the Bord Gais Theatre where we were seeing a show. An easy walk into the city centre and lots of places to eat and sightsee nearby.
Room a good size but very warm and quite basic. No shampoo or conditioner supplied. Reception took a long time to respond to requests. Breakfast well organised but busy and quite basic.

Even though short staffed, the staff treated us very kindly
There was a strong smell of damp in the hotel, the cleaning was subpar, and christmas spa hours change wasnt mentioned which was the main reason for going to the hotel.

    Disappointing
To be avoided unless for convenient location reasons
Location is not exceptional but nice.
Pretend to be 4*. and it probably was.. in the late 80'. Looks never been revamped, or just the carpets were changed... Old furniture. Old Equipement in rooms. Very poor room service and deceiving eating menu options in restaurant. There were MANY families with young kids and babies, really much more than usual.. Tried the breakfast only once and we felt like in an "old bad cheap holiday club" .. and the food was not bad, but not especially good. Tried the swimming pool, which is not opened only to hotel's guests but also to Vitae Sport Club members, and the water T not exceeding 21/22 which is slightly too cold for me for a heated pool.

Swimming pool was cold and also the room was cold, was unable to control own heating.
