    Comfortable rooms, good quiet location with friendly staff
    Good location for getting into the town centre and to be able to walk to the racecourse. Staff were efficient and knowledgeable on the local area. Lovely bar area.

    Excellent staff, a very comfortable mattress and a good shower - the three most important things!
    The room was comfortable as a whole. The shower was excellent. The bed was excellent - very comfortable. A nice mattress.
    The bathroom sink is a classic example of form over function. A narrow rectangular channel is the right shape for an animal's feeding trough but is the wrong shape for a sink. It is impossible to shave in such a shaped sink (shallow) without splashing water all over the bathroom floor. Hopefully the next time the bathroom requires a refurbishment, it will be replaced by a proper round basin.

    Because its a listed building there's no lift, but that hasn't put us off as already booked to return in the new year.
