Beautiful location with simple facilities

Beautiful location in the middle of the forest. Food served was good - great that both dinner and breakfast are served as the location is remote and away from shops. Peaceful atmosphere. Friendly staff. This property is for those who want to stay in the middle of nature and be removed from busyness. It is eco-friendly and rugged as touted in the name.

This accommodation is quite a distance from Munnar - if you are wanting to stay in Munnar, this is quite removed from it. The cleanliness of the room could be improved - it was evident that it hadn't been vacuumed and there were pieces of rubbish under the bed from previous guests. Be aware that you'll need to shower out of a bucket. Lack of hand soap and toilet paper. Minimal sound proofing - could hear everything going on in the adjoining room. Had issues with toilet cover.

A lovely place in the middle of the forest.

The location was everything! We stayed in the Luxury Tent which had two chairs outside. The view was unreal. We could hear so many different birds; it felt like paradise. The staff were so lovely and friendly. The breakfast was great and the restaurant in general had great food. We had a lovely tuk tuk driver called Jaison, recommended by the staff, who drove us around to different places and showed us around.

It would have been great if there were labels on the menu for vegan food. The luxury tent was quite basic but the view more than made up for it.

Ela Freshness of Cardamom in Munnar

Location of the property in a jungle with flora and fauna all around was good. This place can be visited by youngsters but is not advisable for 50 plus people unless they are will to trek for their Rooms and use restaurant facilities there. Choice of food is limited nd may not be to everyone's liking.

We were 2 couples in our 50s enjoyed our stay but as said cleanliness in room, food choices could have been better.

Overall, we enjoyed our nights stay in the treehouse; it felt like a little adventure in nature for the night. However,

Pros: Property: The site is magical, it really feels like youre in a kind of a jungle, and being in the treehouse feels especially like youre in the trees canopy. A member of staff helpfully pointed out the different spices that grow on the land. We would have enjoyed a longer walk around the site, if that had been on offer. Food: The curries for dinner and breakfast were very tasty. Room: We loved the balcony overlooking the trees and the waterfall.

Cons: Room: At double the price of the other rooms on the site, we expected the room to feel less budget than it did. We were not expecting luxury, but the room was incredibly basic. Booking.com listed it as having a shower, but the shower was a tap and a bucket. There was no soap or toilet roll, only shower gel (empty) and shampoo in containers falling off the wall. The bathroom floor was so wet we had to wear shoes. The room felt very damp, to the extent that we used our own sleeping bag to sleep in instead of the sheets. Perhaps a dehumidifier would help? Food: We were told there was a menu in our room, so we expected to choose our food for dinner. No one explained to us that dinner was a set meal, and no one asked our dietary preferences. We ended up being served meat, when we are both vegetarians, and had to order an extra vegetarian curry (which we were kindly not charged for). The food was very tasty, but there could be clearer explanation.

It was a beautiful place, and an excellent stay, however some parts still have scope for improvement

The location was beautiful. Our room had a beautiful view, right next to a small river. The food was good, nothing gourmet but good. They had good portions for the price and we felt full. The breakfast we had was very homely and nice. The room was clean and set up nicely. At night, the area around the rooms as well as the pathways is well-lit and beautiful. The staff was friendly and polite and spoke multiple languages.

The location is a bit difficult to drive to. As soon as you turn out of the main road into the estate, it is a narrow bumpy dirt road, with the river on one side. The parking space was also insufficient. It could not handle the capacity of all the guests coming the night we came. Our driver had to go to another nearby hotel of the same parent company and park (1-2 km away). More amenities would be better (for ex. handwashing soap was not available, even after asking. And toilet paper was given only after asking for some). The restaurant where the breakfast was held was on top of a hill where getting to can be tiring for some. The dinner being brought to us did make it more accessible. Likewise, having any physical disability will make it difficult to move across the property.
