Great hotel, very majestic. Most of the staff were helpful and friendly.
Location
Prices of drinks and food by the pool - extortionate. A no meat Caesar salad, a club sandwich 1 gin and tonic and 1 sangria cost us 78 euros! We stopped using the service. Also the hotel is set on a very busy road so laying around the pool is noisy.

We had a nice room with a beautiful balcony and excellent view.
We enjoyed the breakfast and pool area.
The only thing that might need upgrading was the bed. It was nice and wide but definitely kind of worn-out.
Hopefully the hotel has some plans for the renewal.

A great experience esoecually at Christmas.
Excellent location with exceptional gardens and outside seating areas. Whole building is splendid and luxurious. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Everything very clean. Beautiful Christmas decorations and lovely free piano concert in the lobby. Excellent food at breakfast and lunch. Wonderful bathroom facility.
The pool was closed for the seaskn but it was warm enough to be used.

Lovely elegant hotel! Super clean, modern but classy, comfortable beds, lovely see views from the terrace and restaurant. Amazing staff and happy to help every time.
Pillows could be better.
Also the spa program closing at 7 pm is too early. You should enjoy spa after a full day in the city or walking around the beach.

The building still retains some of its grandeur from when it was built in the 1920s. The staff is very polite and professional. Breakfast is good and diverse, some nice local cheeses, cold cuts and sausages. The gym is very well equipped (different cardio options, decent weightlifting equipment).
We booked the hotel for the four last nights of our Andalusia winter break, mainly because it had a spa and it was on the beach. Upon arrival we discovered that spa came at an extra cost of 30 euros per person per hour. In my opinion, a hotel of that ambition/size and price should not charge extra for the use of spa.
The spa contains a Finnish sauna, a steam room, a warm water pool and a cold plunge. It has four loungers where you can lay down - that is obviously not very many for a hotel that potentially hosts hundreds of guests. These were occupied for the entire duration of my one hour stay in the spa. Here I have to come back to the fact that it comes at an extra cost: in my opinion, a place to lay down/sit between sauna sessions is the very least you can expect for 30 euros per hour.
Breakfast was good, pastries and croissants mediocre and not always fresh.
Beach front is to be understood with a pinch of salt. In order to get to the beach you have to leave the hotel grounds and cross a fairly frequented street. There is a large pool area, which I didnt find particularly inviting due to the traffic noise. For the same reason we also kept our room window closed.
I imagine that the hotel was very beautiful in a classic sense of the word when it was built, in a peaceful area on the outskirts of Malaga. Today it is surrounded by tall apartment buildings and the above mentioned roads. It has undergone renovations in 2017 I believe. The current furniture in the large seating lounge is of a peculiar style of Star-trek meets Ikea. The rooftop bar wasnt inviting with its somewhat cheap looking seating and an unpleasant smell.

When arrived there was nobody at the door taking care of our luggage.
The restaurant of the hotel was good, unfortunately there was a communication mistake that was fast resolved by the waiters.
The location of the hotel was a bit far from downtown.
