I paid for the stay on arrival during check in process as requested. I paid using UPI and for some reason the money didnt come through to their account right away. Uncle brought me back downstairs within a few minutes of me being in the room to question the payment (mam please come out). I stood in their living room surrounded by the 3 family members who were watching me trying to prove I did really pay. Despite showing them my proof of payment and in fact having shown them my phone throughout the payment process, I had to call my bank and wait on hold and talk to them in front of the family to prove my payment before I could go back up. The bank employee confirmed for me, thank goodness. They texted me within half hour confirming payment was in fact received. I travelled around India for over a month and this is the first time this happened to me anywhere. From a business perspective I absolutely understand wanting to make sure you are paid, but from a guest perspective, I found this experience extremely uncomfortable, embarrassing and yucky. There were probably other nicer ways to go about it.
Based on the listing, I was expecting a much bigger room. Instead, we got a very small room off the terrace (my husband is 63 and for the two of us plus our luggage it was a bit tight). Probably wouldnt have booked if I had realized. Looking back at the listing, it is pictured, I just didnt realize when booking as it is not clearly mentioned. so this was partly my mistake.
The room is off the terrace and we went in December so it was freezing cold. We requested a heater and it was extra charge Rs. 750 per day, which we were not expecting. I feel especially in winter this should be included if you are giving a room that is off the terrace, especially if the listing does not make it clear. I never would have booked otherwise if it was clear.
