Was told we were being charged additional fees that we could not decline but would include beverages in the bar lounge area but the area was so busy we could not get anyone to take our drink orders even after they acknowledged we were there.

Stay was very enjoyable - clean rooms, quiet building, and central area make it a return choice.
Customer service, including the text service, was great. Everyone was polite and accommodating. The room was freshly cleaned and sanitized, and the bed was comfortable. Also, enjoyed the little complimentary items in the lobby.
The only weird thing we weren't happy with was the lack of room service. One would think it'd be a given considering the restaurant is in the same building and that it's one of the best and most expensive hotels in Memphis.

A terrific value for upscale accommodations.
Location was excellent, right in the heart of downtown and a close walk to Beale Street. The Peabody ducks were just down the street. Unfortunately the Main Street trolley wasn't running while we were there. It would have made getting around even easier. Complimentary wine was very welcoming as we came "home" tired at the end of the day. Desk staff were wonderful.
The on-site restaurant was handy, but with limited offerings.

Historic building on corner of MADISON AVE and B B KING in downtown Memphis
Musty smell. Could see original curved window frame water damaged but another sealed inner window was on inner side of this exterior window. Needed repair though

Great location. I liked that housekeeping didnt interrupt our stay.
The first room was stuffy and smelled moldy. I hated to be that person, but my breathing issues made that a no-go. Staff was very helpful in getting us another room. The rooms could use a bigger trash can to let us help the staff.

The hotel absolutely met the star rating offered of 4*. It was a well put together hotel in the sense the accommodation was fresh, good condition, modern. Be warned, not all rooms have bathrooms with a door!
There was no hot water for the bulk of our stay. The hotel staff did not inform us of the issue, nor did they keep us informed of the issues. We arrived at 2am after almost 24 hours of travelling and we were not kept informed of any problems. The first we knew was when we had a shower and it was cold. The staff seemed either apathetic or disinterested and this frustrated us and a number of other guests. Whilst we accept it was not the staffs' fault, we still felt the staff could have been more informative. Our room card also needed remagnetising every day which became tiresome. Some guests look to have received a welcome bag on arrival- we did not.

Room wasnt ready for 1.5 hours after check in time. We asked twice for an estimated time it would be ready but reception staff werent able to provide. After 1 hour of waiting we were offered a worse room with no view if we wanted it.. no upgrade or compensation offered for the inconvenience.

A safe & clean place to sleep
Location was good. Hotel was clean. The asst GM and GM were very helpful. A place we felt safe to be.
The chk in process, (admittedly late in the eve), was difficult. Several aspects of room needed maintenance, (sink taps leaked & door lock didn't work). We were offered another room but not to same spec. No windows to open & so no fresh air to circulate - air con v cold. Although senior staff on the ball, other members lacking i.e. didn't know how to order a taxi or local info. A safe & clean place to sleep rather than a hotel with full facilities.
