Road construction, little to no amenities, kitchen faucet not working, needs updating. You are paying for location, period, nothing else is worth the price. The townhomes (that's what they are, it's not a resort) we're built in the 80's and it shows. The decor was nice, but the bathrooms need updating. There are no creature comforts in the unit. A few K cups, a few creamers, no pay channels, we had to go to the office to get toilet paper. I reserved a specific unit with a spiral staircase and a loft for my son, or at least that's what I thought, but apparently they assign you your unit, even if you choose a specific unit while booking. I was told the lofts are reserved by special request only. I don't know about you, but if I reserve a room based on the photos on the site, that's the room I expect to get. The weekend we went up the 89A highway was closed south of the "resort" the only way we could get there was to go into Flagstaff and back down to Oak Creek. We weren't informed of the closure till one day before free cancellation. By the time I saw it and called the resort and found out how it would work, it was the day after free cancellation. The management of the resort would not compromise in any way, and because there was a detour, Booking would not help. Our plan was to stay at Junipine and go in to Sedona for dinner, activities etc. Well, with the construction it would take us and hour and a half to get to Sedona, when normally it would be maybe 15 minutes. Because we couldn't cancel without a penalty, we decided to go and use Flagstaff for meals and activities. That became a pain real quick because you have to drive up through the winding roads of the canyon everyday. We left a day early, it just wasn't worth it to us. Bottom line, Junipine is an outdated townhome community masquerading as a resort. It is overpriced for what you get. There are better options for the price.
