A bit disappointing.
Nice lobby and we liked our room very much. Nice sea and sunset view from the last floor. Nice staff in the buffet restaurant and reception.
There was very few people in this big hotel during our stay, restaurants were closed (except buffet). Some of the areas of the hotel are out of date or destroyed (wooden terrace between the pool and the sea). Very few sunbeds were in the pool area (not enough, even if there is only few people in the hotel), also at the abandoned beach. Water in the ocean was feculent and not pleasant for swimming. Swimming is possible only in the evening during high tide, the rest of the time it's not possible to reach the water due to clay soil).

nice facilities and nice hotel. Aly was great. we were there only for one day but this is a nice getaway hotel

alright but not brilliant
for a 5 star hotel, it probably is by Zanzibar hotel ratings which you should not confuse with normal 5 star hotels. Very difficult to find anything wrong, but then again very difficult to find anything great about it
7km from stone town which takes about 20 minutes so definately not walkable, but then again there is not a fat lot to see in stone town anyway
