    Mangrove Lodge is a haven for nature lovers. The property's beauty and access to an ocean view make it a dream location. The staff are friendly and the rooms comfortable, with a unique outdoor shower (Read More). The pool is excellent, though the rocky beach can be difficult to access. The food is delicious but may take a while to be served. The focus on ecotourism and the ECO friendly environment are highly appreciated. Overall, a phenomenal place to relax and enjoy the Zanzibar sun.

    Pricey for old rooms
    Nice beach and nice restaurant, food was good. The employees were helpful.
    The employees were a bit untrained, they could not understand gluten allergy. But the lady on the WhatsApp line was very responsive and helped solve the problem. The rooms were very old, the pictures are a bit misleading. The door of the shower was broken and we could not close it. The insect nets were a bit dirty. The price they charged is too high for this experience.

    We loved it.
    The pool and beach are very nice. The AC in the rooms was great. The service was terrific.

    breakfast was great, place is full of plants ,flowers and nature the beach view and sunrise and sunset added the flavor away from the city with so much privacy
    cleanness should be improved , more water areas for the restaurant, chill area and other places for handwashing

    A Dream
    If you love natural beauty, beautiful plants, trees and flowers, then this property was a dream come true. I walked around every inch of this property in awe of its beauty. The food and drinks were delicious and nicely priced. The owner had a wealth of knowledge that he shared about Zanzibar and showed us around. He took us to Stone Town and to a Spice tour that was out of this world all while sharing the rich history of where he grew up. Thank you for making this such a great experience for us.

    I loved it so much and will definitely be back! I loved the food and very affordable
    The mangrove lodge has beautiful natural views and a historical site nearby. We had an excellent time there and although the place needs a little bit of work it is still far better and more private than the resort we moved to later on. The food is still some of the most delicious Ive ever had on the island and the staff are all excellent.
    There were puddles of water when it rained that were uncomfortable to walk in and the bed was a little too soft for my comfort

    Big disappointment avoid going there
    We were very disappointed
    We didnt had electricity for 24 hours and the manager started to bring up excuses and was quite rude. From the start he did not even apologised for the inconvenience just kept blaming the government and saying that other guests did not complain, which is frankly irrelevant. Likewise when the electricity was off we were not provided at least with torches or candles to cope with the total dark in the jungle and the room. We did not appreciate the overall treatment and aggressiveness in dealing with the situation and therefore we now ask for the full refund of our stay. It is simply unacceptable the way we were treated and not in line with any standards of decent hospitality business.

    Good Quiet Place
    Service was friendly. Food was amazing. Nice pool and very quiet place. The nature is brilliant and feels disconnected to the rest of Zanzibar which was nice!
    Location is quite difficult to get to, however this gives it its charm. Very frustrating that the card machine didn't work on checkout. I noticed another guest had the same struggle. I was basically forced to pay cash which was an inconvenience and almost delayed me in catching my ferry. The ocean is lovely but not practical to swim on this part of the island.
