Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

The room and overall decor of the hotel is very creative and made the stay feel different and unique. Breakfast - there was a very good menu to select from and was delicious. Bed - the bed was comfy, and had lots of floor space around between the bed, the bathroom entrance and the desk.

Unfortunately, on the night of our stay the wind was extremely strong. Throughout the night, the window was constantly rattling and banging within its frame. My partner couldn't sleep and went outside for a cigarette. On his return, he had brought some cardboard beer mats which he used to wedge the gap and fix the problem.

we loved the property and mostly things were great, however staff kept trying to charge us for things we had already paid (first breakfast then parking) which left the break a little bittersweet and not reflective of a 4 star hotel

Nice decor, good location.

TV in the room didnt work. Bed was very creaky (comfortable when still though). And the room was very small for what was supposedly a superior. Also a large damp patch on the ceiling which was very obvious when laying in bed with any light on.

A SUPERB HOTEL THAT DESERVES A 5 STAR RATING!

A lovely comfortable, clean boutique hotel with amazing staff and unique decor! An excellent quiet location just a short stroll into York. The full English breakfast was lovely prepared with quality, fresh ingredients and there was plenty of other choices on the menu for those with smaller appetites.

The only thing we found that was not to our personal taste was the choice of coffee sachets on the drinks tray in our room. Some of the rooms have a coffee making machine and although we were a little disappointed to find ours didn't have this facility, it in no way spoilt our stay.
