Not clear that there is an additional London hotel tax at time of check out and an additional service charge. So the price you pay on booking.com is not the final price!

The room was spacious and comfortable. Nice touches with the candles, dyson hair dryer, robes and toiletries. Great size bath and showers.
Too dark in communal spaces (dangerous aswell as my daughter walked into a wall), felt unhealthy with no natural light, lifts are always busy, shower hose in bath didnt work, phone in the room had poor signal, lack of and knowledge of plant based food, rude breakfast staff (also didnt understand plant based food, seemed to think bacon was plant based) vegetable spring rolls had duck in them, vegan breakfast (yes they do advertise this) was served with cows butter (we ate it not knowing it wasnt plantbased) only found out the day after when we questioned it. Not even nearly enough staff to cope with the size of the hotel. When we arrived we couldnt check in till nearly 5pm ( incredible this happens when you are paying in excess of 1200 per night)

My parents had a lovely stay, however, please see issue below.
We have never had an issue before at this hotel, having stayed various times over the years, i booked this for my parents who are now in their 80s, they absolutely love the hotel but will not be able to stay in the future due to the concierge at the time of their stay refusing to book them a taxi to Claridges and instead informing them to come down at the time they wanted to leave and they would flag down a taxi for them, they were then told it is not easy to find a taxi at that time so why on earth were the concierge not prepared to book them a taxi in advance!!
I was extremely disappointed at this as it was a special occasion for my elderly parents who eventually arrived at Claridges a little stressed to say the least.
