The Melia Benidorm is a lovely hotel conveniently located near the main area with good transport links. Bars and restaurants are close by and the hotel has beautiful public areas. The indoor heated p (Read More)ool is spacious and enjoyable. The food and drinks are reasonably priced, with a good choice at breakfast and mainly good options for dinner. The rooms are a bit outdated and could use refurbishment, but overall the hotel is very clean with great staff and everything you need for a comfortable stay. One specific staff member, Juan Carlos, provided amazing customer service and made the stay enjoyable. Highly recommended.

The fact that we wasn't informed about the building on the pool which was terribly noisy hammer drills digging concrete out of base of the pool

Melia Hotel Benidorm - Christmas Stay 2023

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had great variety and there was even a microwave oven if you wanted to heat your food from the buffet - personally I like really hot food with steam coming from it - so the microwave made me very happy. The room was lovely and spotlessly clean. The beds were made daily, the floors were washedcand towels changed. The TV had English channels which was nice to get news etc. The entertainment was very good with activities for adults and children. The heated indoor pool was nice and had access to the gardens and sun loungers. Towels were available at the pool. There is a lovely sunny outside terrace beside the front bar for snacks and drinks and very nicely decorated for Christmas. Overall a really nice place to stay.

Unfortunately there was building work going on. It had stopped for three days over the Christmas, but it started again on Dec 27th. They are upgrading one of the outdoor pools and across the road a new hotel is being built so the noise started at 8am and continued through the day which meant we could not sit out on our balcony as it was too noisy and in the room we had to keep the door closed to keep the noise out. We did not request to move rooms as we were 3 days into our stay before the banging began and were settled in. The only other thing we had issue with was the height of the beds and the very firm mattress - though we had extra pillows to lie on which helped - but if booking Spain I would request a mattress topper. The headboard was a bit worn in places and could do with an update - but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of the room. We also had a sofa bed - which was more comfortable for me ascit was lowervdown - so I was happy to use it. It was perfect for one adult or 3 young children.
