It is situated in a slightly seedy area. First night out we saw an ambulance and some policemen one street away.
We checked in at around 5pm after a long day of commuting. I was first in line to check in and there were 2 other families behind me. The front office staff who assisted me was a certain Mr. Imran. He asked for the 2 passports for the 2 rooms I booked.
After checking he seemed to have difficulty locating my booking in the system so I showed him my confirmation number from booking.com. All this while he displayed a very unfriendly demeanor, unlike his colleague who was helping other guests check in.
After a while he looked up and rudely told me that my passport name was not exactly the same as the name used in booking.com. I explained that my Christian name is not included in my passport. Other than that the first name and family name were a perfect match. He grudgingly accepted my explanation like this was not a common situation. I have never encountered such a line of questioning at other properties.
Mr. Imran did not bother to explain about amenities/facilities at the hotel. For eg if there was a gym, or if we wanted to pay for breakfast how much it would be etc. Just asked for payment and sent us on our way.
The next morning, one hotel staff knocked on my daughters room and she said please dont come in. Despite that the staff came in while my daughter was changing.
The second morning, another hotel staff simply entered my room without knocking, wanting to top up the mini bar. He saw the shocked look on my face and retreated.
There are no amenities in the hotel room other than shower gel, shampoo, hair conditioner and body lotion. No slippers, bathrobe, stationery etc. The shower screen is poorly designed so the floor outside the stall ends up wet after every shower.
