    Quiet, cosy, friendly, perfect
    Paul is so welcoming and discreet, room is cosy and warm, breakfast was excellent. Our stay at the Midway was exactly what we were hoping for. Thank you!

    We really enjoyed our stay and we would definitely stay there again if we were to go back to York.
    Good location - only took 15-20 mins to walk to the city centre. There was also the option to walk along the river. Room was nice and quiet. Staff were friendly and very helpful. The house itself was lovely and cosy.
    It was really hot in the room. We turned the radiator off, and opened the window but it was still stifling. Being the middle of winter though, it's hard to find a good balance to suit everyone across a big house.

    Friendly staff but not sure if worth the money.
    Friendly staff and liked they had fresh towels outside rooms.
    Location is a good 20/25 minute walk to centre, but I enjoy walking so isnt too bad for myself personally. Shower was really small, and bed comfort could be improved as wasnt great comfort. Dated decor and facilities not sure if worth the price (it may be as not up to date with hotel prices in area).

    Good location, clean comfortable room .
    So very disappointed to find on arrival that we could not arrange breakfast for any of the days we stayed. It was as advertised on the site as a B&B and for an extra 10 each ,breakfast was available to request. After pointing this out to the owner , he at first advised us that there was a cafe down the road. And since covid that was what people were happy to do . He had also lost his chef and the B&B was closing down in Jan 2024 He later contacted us to say he had arranged for us to move the following afternoon to a sister B&B that served breakfast . We appreciated his alternative arrangement,but still didn't resolve the disappointment and it would have meant repacking and relocating on a short trip .

    Great place for a weekend
    The hotel and location was amazing. Paul was very welcoming and his breakfast was delicious.
    The only thing that let it down was the bed wasn't comfortable. Unfortunately for me, being pregnant didn't help either, but my husband also commented how uncomfortable the bed was.

    Lovely stay at the Midway Ideal location to get to the centre of York. Bus stop across the road run every 15 minutes. Lovely breakfast thankyou we will be back. Merry christmas

    Ideal for a 2 night stay
    Cute, traditional English house! Breakfast and the hosts were amazing. Free parking was very convenient. We were also allowed to have a later check in so this is much appreciated
    The location wasnt so good as I hoped, especially at night. Around 10 pm we were waiting the bus for 20 mins and did not turn up so took a taxi and charged us 10 for 5 mins driving into the city, this is not up to the property though. During the day the buses were more frequent. But maybe during summers months I wouldnt mind walking into the centre. Also the room was a bit small for the money we paid, but hey-ho, I guess we pay for the Christmas spirit as well
