Charming, unpretentious comfort in downtown DC

First, I was drawn to the Morrison Clark Inn because of the location and the super reasonable price. Once I arrived I knew I made an excellent choice. What a welcome! The Christmas decorations were warm and lovely. The reception staff...I mentioned that I had had dinner there 25 years ago with my mom, and that it had been delicious, wonderful. One of the staff said he had known the chef from that time, and that he'd worked at the inn for decades. He put me in the room of my dreams! I went on to learn that he was one of many of the staff who have spent their careers there. That speaks volumes. My room was spectacular: I had a bathtub, a super comfy king bed, a fainting couch and a chaise lounge. Plus a magnificent balcony (see photo from balcony). The lighting was ridiculously flattering. Bar was fun for a snack, the bartender was great and easy to chat with. In all, the staff were outstanding.

Best value, stylish and comfortable hotel

Very clean and quality rooms, the lobby was cute and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Staff were very helpful. Everything was amazing and the price was so cheap, and the hotel was better than many of the big brands.
