Decent resort but a bit tired. We did enjoy our stay.
The hotel beach area is small but it was very nice. Lovely sand and the ocean was pretty. There can be lots of seaweed depending on high winds and larger waves. The pool was nice and the restaurants and buffet were realtively good. The buffet was probably better than most of the "Specialty Restaurants". Lots of food variety and good food. The Marina restaurant was a nice place to enjoy lunch by the beach with exceptional chicken evedy day. We had some room issues and had to change rooms twice. Our 3rd room was great. Emmanuel, the manager of the front desk, was such a nice man to deal with. He was a wonderful representative for the resort, and they are fortunate to have him as an employee.

The hotel is nice but it's a bit tired. It needs an overhaul of the rooms, better and quieter air conditioners. The property is large and requires a lot of walking, which is fine. They have shuttle golf carts that circle the property offering lifts, which was helpful. However, they only come around every 10 minutes or so, and at night, almost never. You get tired of waiting, so you end up walking. Also, some carts say "Priviledged Only," and we were denied a lift twice as we didn't have the right coloured arm band. This was outrageous, ridiculous, and insulting. This is an area where they need improvement. They need to have 3-4 carts (for everyone no matter what your arm band) circling continuously from 7am- 9pm and then 2 carts continuously until 2am. A walk from the front lobby to the beach is about a mile. We averaged about 20,000 steps a day on our watches (and that's with using carts, too). Hard on the knees and hips for people of age. The last negative thing was the staff, about 25% were so very nice while the rest were either indifferent or even rude. They need to address this.

Definately not the best, it's ok.
The general staff (bartenders ((especially Manuel at the pool)), waiters, drivers) were great, excellent entertainment staff, steakhouse restaurant was the best, pool side cooking was delicious especially Dominican day, pool entertainment was also great.
Beach is small and not at all nice. Very difficult to get a reservation for any of the thematic restaurants, air conditioning is horrible throughout the hotel including restaurants. We were in a privileged honeymoon suite where the AC was great but had friends in 3 different buildings where their rooms were soooo warm! Our room got flooded twice because of AC leaking, we also had bad water pressure. Privilege staff including butler were not helpful at all, we got better attention from the regular staff. They make you take a tour that lasts 3 hours to sell you basically their priority benefits, waste of my vacation time, I had read about it so I refused but our friends got trapped.
