Great location. I particularly enjoyed breakfast time, even though the restaurant can be quite small on busy mornings. Some of the artwork around the inn are interesting and made my walk around the venue worth the effort.
When I checked in there was hair in the bathroom and bedroom (see photos). When I approached reception, without as much as an apology, I was asked when would you like it cleaned? - this is not a 5 star service, frankly its not even 4 star.
The pousada restaurant Taberna da Praa was utter chaos, with door staff running around (the place wasnt particularly busy) the chef shouting loud insults from the kitchen - it all made for a very course experience, one I regretted. As if that wasnt enough, the prices are extortionate, and you will be automatically charged a 10% tip and a donation (to god knows what) - alas, this isnt California, and the whole ethos is simply wrong - to be avoided.

Bets place to stay when visiting Cascais and surrounding area.
A perfect location to explore Cascais and the local vicinity. The staff were so helpful, full of smiles and support.
Right at the top of Cascais so no need for a car or taxi if you are restauranting or shopping the area.
Very pet friendly and no problem with our small King Charles Spaniel in the hotel whatsoever. Unfortunately we did not have time for the SPA and indoor or outdoor pools but they looked great.
Super views of the marina from the breakfast and dinning rooms.
We received a message from the hotel with rather draconian statements regarding our dog before checkin. This led us to almost cancel our reservation however, upon checkin, the hotel is one of the most pet friendly hotels we have stayed at ant the staff loved our dog and made such a fuss of him. Dont be put off by the email and hotel Pestana Cidadela Cascais; may I suggest you modify the email to reflect how well you actually treat our pets?
