    HOW DO YOU TURN A RED LION INTO A WHITE ELEPHANT?
    Location, staff, value for money.
    I had paid for breakfast, but there was no chef and I had to go to a local cafe. No refund was offered. The hotel bar was closed when I returned from dinner. My room (7) was freezing cold and the heating didn't work. This hotel, which I have been using for years, seems to stagger from crisis to crisis. It needs investment, and a GM with vision and purpose.

    Location for town and work in the morning was really good.
    Paper thin walls so you could hear everyone walking around and neighbouring rooms.

    Weekend stay
    We had one of the superior rooms, the bed was king sized and really comfortable. The hotel has a good town centre location with shops and restaurants close by.
    There was a party at the hotel, which we had been warned about. The music was loud and could have been turned down a bit. The disco music ended at 11.00 and we were able to sleep after that.

    Good stay, very good value for money, I will use this hotel again when i'm in Basingstoke.
    My visit was short however everything went well.
    There was not one specific thing that I didn't like, hence my previous answers.
