This is an old historical building and it is very in keeping with the old world feel of Rye. There is a lovely little lounge and bar at the hotel as well as a large breakfast room - all offer great views. The hotel is a little maze, with staircases and beams and little corridors going to all the rooms - so quaint! The Staff are incredibly friendly and happy to help. The rooms and communal areas are all clean and tidy and there is a tea room which is open in warmer months. This is a 3 star hotel and its rating is perfect for what you get.
The room I stayed in was number 27. It was perfectly clean as was the spacious bathroom. The bed had good linen on it and the mattress as well as the pillows had protectors on them. The tea and coffee/biscuits supplied were of good quality and a kettle was left in the room as well as a flask of fresh water. My room had a slightly sloping floor, so was in keeping! The TV provided had a good reception and there was a telephone in the room to get hold of reception/other rooms.
My husband and son stayed in number 20 -a twin room, they were happy with the room too.
Breakfast was great - cooked very nicely and had good quality sausage/bacon with it. The choice was good too.
