This is not a complaint. Please do not bother calling me. This is my honest feedback. The management staff understand English but there seems to be a problem with communication and we had to make the same request multiple times to get the message.
Restaurant food is below average for choices and food to order on menu was served cold. Bit disappointed with the food being served cold. When you ask for Dosa or light meals, the response was these were breakfast items and will take time to prepare. We didnt mind waiting but then the food was served cold as if it was waiting for a while before it was brought to the table.
Room charges were on the very high end for a 5 star (and mind you that we have stayed in multiple 5 stars in the past 2 decades in various International cities.) The expectation of a 5 star was not met and hence the review. It would be nice if the management focused on staff training in responding to customer requests (They are polite staff but appear to have no communication skill training) and perhaps spend some money on recruiting English speaking staff. We tried to communicate in Tamil too (Being in TamilNadu, atleast you should speak Tamil or English) but some staff did not understand that too. Appears that they can speak Hindi, so either you have to speak English or Hindi.
Location is bit out of main city area and it is very close to the Eden Beach.
Room design and facilities were good but the toilet seat cover was broken. Again housekeeping should have picked on this and sorted it before we check in. We did highlight it to the staff but my guess is that they would not have passed it on to their line manager. For the price they charge for each night, we expected a higher standard.
I am sure the staff are very good people and they were polite in how they welcomed. It was just the frustration of lack of communication and multiple requests for the same thing that annoyed us.
