Guests stayed at the White Hart Hotel for 5 nights and found the stairs steep but expected due to the old building. Room 17 was small but clean, with a comfortable bed and good shower. Staff, includi (Read More)ng Dylan, were friendly and helpful. The food was excellent, particularly the seafood chowder. Breakfast and dinner were good. The location in St Austell allowed for easy exploration of Cornwall.

Superb

Nice small, friendly hotel.

Location was really good with a small free car park at the rear. Breakfast and evening meal was excellent and plentiful. Staff were very polite at all times. Room was exceptionally warm . Bathroom was huge .

Disappointing

Avoid staying here over Christmastime

The reception and whole ground floor is very nice

We have stayed before and when we decided to come here for Christmas it was the thought of the very good full English breakfast they serve that swayed it for us. We did get that on Christmas Eve but then we found out that on Christmas morning breakfast was being served at 9am and it would only be a cold plate. It turned out to be a horrible plate of continental hams, smoked salmon , cold fish and a few other things. There was no other choice. This was a clearly a decision they made to prioritise Xmas Dinner guests over their staying guests and they totally let us down. If you are not getting the full breakfast included in the rate then the rooms dont justify the price they charge. I have contacted both them and St Austell Brewery about this and I have not had a reply from either. It is very disappointing and unprofessional

A very enjoyable stay, would recommend.

It was welcoming, very clean, room had all the usual facilities a very good standard.

The only negative was the room was too warm, even after turning down the radiator .

Great location near station and town centre, very friendly, helpful and professional staff, breakfast was of a very good standard, bar area is very nice and has a good selection of drinks etc, lots of storage, shower was excellent, complimentary shower gels, comfy bed and linen.

Room was a bit small and dated, no desk, draughty windows, some road noise, not a nice view, some poor finish in decor particularly in bathroom, very limited tv stations. Some disturbance from stairs and landings/communal areas from people talking and lots of creaky stairs and floorboards.

Needs modernising, not a very comfortable experience food in hotel (we had one meal) wasnt great basic menu boiling hot probably microwaved before being served to us. Overheard staff complaining about being overworked and tired as they had to work bar, serve food and reception work. Bed was uncomfortable.

Comfortable and friendly.

Good choice for breakfast, well cooked and good service. Well positioned in St Austell for town and train/bus links. Room was excellent ( free upgrade through booking.com, thank you).

Only a slight niggle, a little light over the dressing table would be good.
