Day 1 Arrive in Guwahati - Attend a Cultural Evening
  • Upon arrival in Guwahati, meet a representative who will transfer you to the hotel for an overnight stay.
  • In the evening, visit Srimanta Sankaradeva Kalakshetra and experience a cultural evening.
  • Overnight stay in Guwahati.
  • In the early morning after breakfast, proceed towards the capital of Meghalaya, Shillong (100 km/2 hrs).
  • En-route visit Umiam Lake, one of the prominent attractions of Meghalaya.
  • Optional water sports like water cycling, kayaking, scooting and boating can be availed at Umiam Lake.
  • After the active excursion, proceed towards Hotel Pinewood for lunch and rest.
  • In the evening, visit the Don Bosco Museum of Indigenous Cultures.
  • Overnight stay in Shillong.
  • After breakfast, depart for the tour of Cherrapunjee (54 Km/2 hr); the second wettest on earth and the rainiest in India.
  • Visit the Mawphlang Sacred Grove which is bestowed with an amazing flora featuring plants, flowering trees, orchids, butterflies and is an ideal eco-tourism destination.

What's Good: Well arranged by Hemant on the hotels, transportations and to the interesting places/temples. Very caring and with follow-up calls from time to time. Arranged very good drivers at (Read More) different locations. As foreigners, we feel very safe and homely travelling with Gateways Destination. Will definitely contact them again for my future travels and will also introduce GATEWAYS DESTINATION N to our friends and families. Thank You Hemant and your staff for the memorable trip.

What's Good: Everything was well organized. All stay options were good.
What's Not Good: Most of the places were dry in cheerapunji due to off season -Feb. And some places were closed (Read More). I would suggest to check this before going.
